I'm just watching the second part.

Thank goodness Alfie has gone. His stress was playing havoc with my Fitbit stress readings. See you on Friday.

Ellenanora7 · 16/12/2025 23:08

I havent been able to watch last night's or tonight's so I'm reading the thread instead 😁

Now about the fish finger sandwich.... Fresh bread, real butter, four or five fish fingers, some ordinary lettuce and tartare sauce 😋

There's is no place for ketchup in my fridge....... well there is but only for the grandkids.

I'm really hoping I'll be able to watch the final live 😃

Hopefully catch you all then 😊

RomainingCalm · 17/12/2025 11:06

I'm with @Ellenanora7 for the fish finger sandwiches - fresh bread, real butter, four or five fish fingers, some ordinary lettuce and tartare sauce 😋 - that's my Masterchef final dinner sorted!

Thank goodness Alfie has gone before the whole process finished him off completely. An Alun Wyn Win for me now - he's just been lovely from the beginning and, apart from the traitor's style cloak, hasn't resorted to gimmicky props. Dawn is beginning to make the Great British Menu look 'back to basics'.

I did laugh at the chefs from the professional kitchen overseeing the contestants - I wonder how much of the heavy lifting they actually did behind the scenes - I suspect it was quite a lot.

Hopefully see you all for the final.

Davros · 17/12/2025 23:00

Firstly, ketchup does not need to go in the fridge, secondly @Halsall get yourself some M&S jumbo fish fingers if you are re-entering FF land, thirdly that was quite a boring episode. Lastly, I can’t watch on Friday because I am going out for a very top notch dindin so will have to watch on Saturday and catch up with the thread then. Don’t enjoy the final too much without me, I don’t really care which of them wins

Ellenanora7 · 17/12/2025 23:26

@Davros enjoy your dinner 😊 the ketchup fridge thing is weird, the grandkids say it has to be in the fridge, then I say well it's not in the fridge if you're out for dinner or even in McDonald's, apparently that doesn't matter 🤷

It's unbeatable @RomainingCalm absolutely delicious 😋 I've been on a soft food diet for thirteen weeks because I had to get dental implants (bastard cancer treatment ruined my gums) but had my final visit last week and haven't stopped eating since 😁 everything I couldn't have has now been sufficiently and satisfyingly shoved into my gob 😁😁

Halsall · 17/12/2025 23:37

Oh @Ellenanora7 sorry to hear that - but glad you can eat (everything!) now.

And @Davros - thanks for the FF rec.

@Halsall let me know what you think if you get some

PotterHead1985 · 18/12/2025 13:16

Anyone wanna do a basic recap of what i missed Monday and Tuesday for me?!!

Halsall · 18/12/2025 19:53

@PotterHead1985 It was afternoon tea time on Monday with the frankly terrifying Cherish Finden cracking the whip. She told them she was the BOSS in the KITCHEN. Alun Wyn had to form Coronation Chicken into a tiny sphere topped with a potato twirl, and Ginger's was a little teapot short and stout, here’s my handle, here my spout. Alfie had (another) nervous breakdown. The judges were from the Wedgwood factory, for reasons not entirely explained.
Round 2 was a ‘performance in food' - Dawn wrote and staged an entire novel called 6 Shades of Orange, complete with typewriter (I'm not kidding) but Jamie produced blue food so he was OUT.

TUESDAY - now there were 4. 'Cooking for someone special' was the first brief and Alfie was a puddle of wibbling terror as he produced a rather wonky cake in tribute to his Dad and ensured a taxi for one. So no Chef's Table for him - just as well, as he'd have had a screaming breakdown under the pressure.

We were off to a restaurant somewhere off the M6 Toll Road then, and everyone dozed off a bit tbh (I mean us lot, not the contestants). It seemed a bit dull. Dawn left bone in her chicken terrine. Ginger made ice-cream out of Jerusalem artichokes. Alun Wyn redeemed past lamb trauma. The Big Important Chefs thought it was all great, but there isn’t much jeopardy in this bit frankly.

…….and I think that’s us all caught up!

That is a cracking summary @Halsall🤩

gingercat02 · 19/12/2025 10:59

Watched late last night, with wine so it maybe slightly vague, but that was all a bit crap. Glad Alfie has gone for his own good.
I'm out tonight but might watch early if it's on iplayer. The final is always too much filler and not enough cooking on all the MC versions imo.

bungobungobungo · 19/12/2025 18:29

Just realised I’m not around this evening. Enjoy the final everyone, have a lovely Christmas and look forward to more laughs next time!

bungobungobungo · 19/12/2025 18:30

Oh an @Halsall, what a great synopsis of well, everything!

PotterHead1985 · 19/12/2025 19:29

That was epic @Halsallthanks

fourquenelles · 19/12/2025 19:43

Back from Jury Service and thank you so much @Halsall for the cracking summary. I am ready with my Baileys and mini clementine mince pies.

EsmaCannonball · 19/12/2025 20:02

The last two episodes were like Alfie Boe was having to cook a candlelight supper for Hyacinth Bucket in her very kitchen and then serve it up on her periwinkle Royal Doulton as she was hovering over him and he deliquesced into a complete gibbering wreck. He's probably spending Christmas in The Priory even though this was filmed back in March or whenever.

littlbrowndog · 19/12/2025 20:02

Am ready. Last time we see jonty

Ah well a girl could hope eh!! Waffle as per usual

EsmaCannonball · 19/12/2025 20:06

Drag artistes were all over the television when I was growing up. I know someone who worked with Hinge and Bracket and he said they were the loveliest people in showbiz.

TheDogsMother · 19/12/2025 20:06

@Halsall That is an excellent summary. Evening Chuffs.

EsmaCannonball · 19/12/2025 20:07

Halsall · 19/12/2025 20:05

Evening Chuffs! Donald is much nicer looking as Donald.

Hang on! What did I miss when I was typing? Donald? Not that Donald? I thought Melania would be in charge of the lamb racks and chocolate fondants.
