Ok so who like me has watched all series of Friends at least 4 or 5 times through by watching the repeats on E4? Do you know all the words like I do? Do you always say "I'm not going to watch it again" when it finishes the last series and then starts the first one again? But then are drawn in again by the Ross-Rachel storyline?
I'm so sad please don't tell me I'm the only one?

No we are here too

Last night I was quoting all the lines as they came on and DS says that I should do MASTERMIND on FRIENDS

BoysAreLikeDogs · 06/06/2008 18:06

DSs watch Friends with me.

And they can sing Smelly Cat

I like it when they randomly mix the episode order up, and you can still rememeber the storyline because you have seen them all 10 times.

I know them all off by heart too

I call it my comfort tv. 4 or 5 times, MrsJamin? You're a mere novice! I've watched them 4 or 5 hundred times!

slayerette · 06/06/2008 18:12

'You can't say you're breezy! That totally negates the breezy!'

shubiedoo · 06/06/2008 18:13

Me too! You're not alone! My dh is so disgusted when he sees me watching it yet again!
I swear that's how I got through the day with ds1 who was a difficult baby... roll on 5 pm for an hour of Friends!
And then now and again there's one I've only seen one or two times, instead of a dozen times, and I'm thrilled!

TheMuppetMuggle · 06/06/2008 18:22

I'm another one, DD watches it to.
I'm also the same with ER
Drives DP crazy

BabaYaga · 06/06/2008 18:34

Me too. I even have some series of dvd (erm bought them on video first, then on dvd ) and get really pleased when one of the series I don't have is showing on E4 as I have seen those episodes marginally less. Why doesn't it ever get boring? Has pregnancy and child birth numbed my brain that much?

MrsJamin · 07/06/2008 13:25

lol I'm so glad I'm not alone. I could see me watching it forever at 5pm every day. They still make me laugh though. I think it's down to the very clever writing and the comic timing of all of the actors. Some are great physical comedians too like Joey.

My DH prevents me from saying the words too. I know all the words to at least the songs. I have been known to, when I've forgotten any normal nursery rhymes, sing this to my 5MO DS:
Oh the cow in the meadow goes moo, oh the cow in the meadow goes moo, then the farmer hits him on the head and grinds him up, and that's how we get hamburgers!

I have bought the entire series twice due to DC's borrowing the first set and ruining them. What's worse, despite this, I still watch episodes daily on E4.

I'm the undisputed champion of Friends Scene it in the Scarlett household. It's very sad that I've still never found something as funny to watch on TV as the episode with Ross and Monica's "routine".

fawkeoff · 07/06/2008 13:39

i love friends....always have and always will

"i'm not talkin to you you broke ny fridge"

"hi im chandler...could i beeee wearing any more clothes???"

Flamesparrow · 07/06/2008 13:44

Ooh me too

"He's her lobster"

Nbg · 07/06/2008 13:45

I love Friends.

When I had PND with my dd, I borrowed a load of friends videos and watched them on loop at times
They made me feel alot better though.

kerryk · 07/06/2008 18:22

Collision · 07/06/2008 18:24

'well kick my ass and call me Judy' I do the same thing too!!

maidamess · 07/06/2008 18:40

Me and my dd are obsessed with it. especially the episode where everyone finds out about Chandler and Monica "And the Messers become the messees!"

MrsJamin · 09/06/2008 17:12

Ok everyone. Favourite episode & favourite character please.
Episode - The One where no-one's ready
Character - Joey, his physical comedy is the best

OP posts:
slayerette · 09/06/2008 17:52

Ooh - you pinched my favourite episode! I can practically recite it word for word.

'What are you going to do - show me my clothes?'
'Opposite...means opposite!'

Favourite character (apart from Joey doing lunges) - Monica. The moment where she realises she has recorded a new outgoing message is priceless.

Next favourite episode: TOW Unagi. David Schwimmer's acting in this one is fantastic.

'DANGER!'

When the boys take Ross to the ice hockey game to cheer him up:
Ross: You know what? I'd better pass on the game. I'm just gonna go home and think about my ex-wife and her lesbian lover.
Joey: The hell with hockey. Let's all do that.

My favourite ever:
Joey: Rach, you gotta find out if he's in the same place you are. Otherwise, it's just a moo point.
Rachel: A moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It's like a cow's opinion. It just doesn't matter. It's moo.
Rachel: Have I been living with him too long or did that all just make sense?

Ross: Wow, you guys sure have a lot of books about being a lesbian.
Susan: Well, you know, you have to take a course. Otherwise they don't let you do it.

Or when Rachel was pregnant -
Ross: [leaning over and talking to Rachel's lap] I can't wait to play with you all day, and to hear your first words.
Phoebe: [wide eyed] Why are you letting him talk to your crotch that way?
Rachel: He's talking to the baby.
Phoebe: Oh, that's good. Because when I heard, "I can't wait to hear your first words" I thought, "Boy that's some trick!"

BandofMothers · 09/06/2008 18:22

Me too...DH will walk in and roll his eyes, then perch somewhere and watch it with me chuckling away.
I am the same with Charmed, that is my comfort tv, and MASH, I absolutely LOVE MASH, and I usually crash when the dd's go to bed and watch it with my dinner, but they have now moved it from 7pm to 8pm, and it better be a temporary thing or I will be very cross

BandofMothers · 09/06/2008 18:24

Oh but Friends, I like the one where Joey puts his book in the freezer, and cries at Little Women.
My sister can quote Red Dwarf and knows which episode any quote comes from, she is a little tooooooo into it

fawkeoff · 09/06/2008 18:26

rachel : you didnt finish the letter???
ross : you had rambled on for 18 pages...FRONT AND BACK!!!!!

fawkeoff · 09/06/2008 18:27

PHOEBES SONG: singing to the class of children

" now the cow in the meadow goes moo...now the cow in the meadow goes moo....then the farmer hits them over the head and thats how we get hamburgers......now chickens"

JRocks · 09/06/2008 18:37

or Phoebe's other song

'sometimes men love women, and sometimes men love men, and then there are bisexuals, though some just say they're kidding themselves..'

JRocks · 09/06/2008 18:39

And the whole episode where Joey had to keep saying "I'm Joey, I'm disgusting..etc"

Or Rachel's cat that 'looks like a hand'

fawkeoff · 09/06/2008 18:43

lol.... i loved chandlers wierdo roomate...who kept the goldfish in his pocket....sooooo funny.....or where rachel makes the trifle/ shepards pie!!!!!

joey : "whats the big deal??
meat good, jam good and custard goooood"
