Tom’s non shiny beehive seems to be the dominant part of his solution but surely the most important part is the macarons? It seems to be more about the beehive.

Sorry everybody, thread filled up so quickly it caught me unawares. Hope everyone finds their way here, I can't post on the old thread now.

Its just too much beehive - surely the frame is to show off the macarons not eclipse them.

They use it on Professional Bake Off too, I’m guessing it sets everything into place

If it was to make an unusual Easter egg, great but compared to the others the hive dominates not compliments

But what is it doing on those bakes? They seem to be using it as a kind of glue but that doesn’t match what google tells me it is used for!

I have a pack of frozen Picard macaron in my freezer. If there was anyone else here I would not have resisted.

As far as I know, it literally freezes the air through a chemical reaction. So I don't think it adds any substance or flavour to the bake.

I've never understood why the contestants have to carry those enormous showstoppers to the front. Surely the judges should go to them??
