Put 15 really boring people in and so it can go back to being a social experiment

Wot I mean is that if you put in 15 really boring people who were honestly not bothered about becoming famous or wanting to be a PRESENTER or PAGE 3 MODEL or a SINGER

Who didn't say they would get naked or have sex in the house or wanted to make headlines

I think it would be more interesting

Cos if they were all boring in themselves it would be more interesting iyswim

To watch how they got on together?

WOt do you guys think?

I'm not sure - that Cameron guy who won a few years ago was as dull as ditchwater and I was baffled as to why he was even there. I think they do need some extroverts who are only there for the appearances in Heat, just so we can mock in a judgemental fashion from the safety of our sofas . The problem is that anyone who is vaguely normal and/or a bit dull is going to have more sense than to even audition for the show.

SoupKitchen · 05/06/2008 10:50

I think after the first series all was lost iykwim

learningallthetime · 05/06/2008 10:52

I think they tries to get back to grass roots when they put them "talented" teenagers in last year.

nancy75 · 05/06/2008 10:53

it could never be the same, the first lot had no idea how popular the show would be and didnt really play to the camera because they probably thought nobody would be watching. once people knew the level of exposure they would recieve it just became a show to get famous, i doubt if normal people even apply to go on it, i know i wouldnt!

ProfYaffle · 05/06/2008 10:55

I don't think it should be 'boring' people as such though I wholeheartedly agree they shouldn't be there just to chase fame. dh and I area always saying they should just put interesting people in there, with life experience and something to say.

RTKangaMummy · 05/06/2008 11:00

That is true I forgot about cameron

We didn't watch last year - just the opening night when they went in but didn't bother after that

I agree the 1st one was the best cos of their innocence of the media etc.

I think it is just boring if all the people are WANNABEs

yes I like the idea of older people with life experiences

But that won't make headlines or pages in the mags or papers

We don't get any mags or papers in this house so I don't see all the stuff that is written in them but I can guess iyswim

I did the same last year, won't even bother watching opening night this year.

ProfYaffle · 05/06/2008 11:03

This is true, don't expect it to happen but we can dream

BlueDragonfly · 05/06/2008 11:04

apparently there will be tasks involving starving the housemates this year don't know whether thats true but surely thats not even allowed!

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2008 11:04

BB4 (I think) had a house full of boring people and it was the most boring BB yet.
Having said that, I don't think they should fill the house with freaks and wannabes either. They should go back to normal(ish) people like they had the first few years.

RTKangaMummy · 05/06/2008 11:06

I did like the twist of the RICH and POOR houses several years ago with the bars down the middle - I like the psychology of it of playing with their minds

BlueDragonfly · 05/06/2008 11:18

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2008 11:18

The Daily Star 'news'paper described this year's housemates as an "eye-popping selection of freaks, oddballs and stars".
Oh hurrah.

LyraSilvertongue · 05/06/2008 11:19

I don't read the Star btw. There's a copy at work.

Mhamai · 05/06/2008 11:21

Can you imagine Bluedragon, "Er I thought I was here for the x factor" Durhhhhh

SummatAndNowt · 05/06/2008 12:33

YES! Oh how I wish they would! sigh

PuppyMonkey · 05/06/2008 20:10

I wish it would all be filmed in advance like the Apprentice. And instead of the viewers voting who goes, just get Sralan to come in and decide who goes.
