Annoying ads

Forgive me, I am currently watching cricket so I’m being subjected to virtually the same ads every break. Which ads do you find really annoying?

For me, the top one is that bloody Polestar ad. “I’ve never seen anything like it, I’ve never seen anything move like it.” Yes, you have, love. It moves like any other car on the road currently and cars have been around for over 100 years. Ok, so modern cars look different to old cars, but I can’t easily tell between a Polestar and a Tesla, and I’m pretty decent at spotting car makes.

Then there are those annoying Indeed ads where the interviewer won’t give out the salary to an interviewee and the interviewee won’t tell them his salary. I get them a lot because I watch a lot of Walter Presents and they are the sponsor but I just want the interviewer to say “The salary is £X” and the interviewee say “Well, I’m not interested then” and walk out.

Any betting ads generally. They are all over YouTube. YouTube I notice has got another level worse in their adverts. It's almost at the point of unwatchable now with the ads popping on at full volume.

YouTube ads in the middle of live streams are the WORST. We watch a lot of the cricket live streams during the season and they manage to pick the moment the ball is being bowled to show an ad a lot. Given the amount of breaks in cricket between overs, after wickets, drinks breaks etc, you’d think they’d have the technology to insert the ads then.

Yep I noticed they now chuck adverts during live streams now. It's pretty much the final straw really. YouTube used to be so good.

I was watching reruns of CSI on Amazon Prime, and before the opening sequence the ads were on. About 4 sets of ads per episode, but they were advertising mainly their own shows. But it was driving me insane. It actually put me off watching what they were advertising as the theme tunes alone drove me potty.

So agree about the salary discussion interview…that’s ad nauseam, pun intended.

Latest one - the SimpliSafe adverts are so far from real life that it’s untrue. They're all sitting round, agog at an alarm system and say “our new SimpliSafe alarm. Let’s install it” then the son guilt trips them into buying another camera for basically toys and the mum stands there and gives the thumbs up when Dad presses the buy button.

The annoying couple in the travel insurance ads.. can't remember the company.
