Who is watching?

OP posts:
sausageupanalley · 12/10/2025 20:46

Thanks for the reminder op, I love this show so will definitely be watching

NCTDN · 12/10/2025 21:08

I’m going to give it a try but feel like the last couple have been too scripted

NCTDN · 12/10/2025 21:09

Surely they need to give them a chance to get away from the airport though?

TheMadGardener · 13/10/2025 01:26

First couple of series were good but then it got ridiculously scripted/fixed. I'll probably watch anyway.

Rummikub · 13/10/2025 01:31

Yes watching.
I never notice attempts at scripting.

Seems a big ask to escape from an airport though.

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 13/10/2025 20:58

Me, haven’t watched it for a few series so it is interesting seeing the changes.

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 13/10/2025 21:08

Is the guy at Hunted HQ related to the oldest looking hunter in the cars?

GlastoNinja · 13/10/2025 21:10

Oh I forgot about the athletic, sunglasses wearing hunters <sighs>

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 13/10/2025 21:14

The Prince Harry lookalike? 🤔

Rummikub · 13/10/2025 21:20

How do they track if things ike anpr are simulated?

NCTDN · 13/10/2025 21:23

I don’t think I can watch any more. As if the friend would let them look at their sat nav and search their phones!

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 13/10/2025 21:24

Good question. Maybe they simulate the results for the tv audience but have access to the real thing?

Rummikub · 13/10/2025 21:36

Do you think they do have access to the real thing?

I think the camera person tells the producers what the fugitives they are with are doing. Then the producers give the hunters pieces of information that they would know if they actually had access to cctv, anpr and mobile phone data etc. They also do stuff like after the fugitives are captured, they go back and film clips that they pretend was cctv footage from before they were captured.

Ahh thanks! That makes sense. I’d worked out that the producers must report back. But not that they go back to shoot extra footage.

The Prince Harry lookalike? 🤔

🤣 is there a prince Harry lookalike?

I was thinking more of the Idris Elba lookalike but it seems they’ve mixed it up a bit this year.

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 16/10/2025 07:52

Not really, just a guy with ginger hair and a beard.

I thought the whole point of Hunted was that the producers for the hunters and fugitives were kept completely separate and didn’t talk to each other so the hunters would have to find that info themselves, eg in first episode, they managed to get telematics on a car which was at a train station. They then looked at station cctv and verified that the fugitives were at that station getting on a train.
if the producers were or are passing information to the hunters, it would give them an unfair advantage.

Except they don’t have access to this information in reality. So they must recreate it artificially. The camera person or some form of tracking tag that producers can access seems likely.

They don't have a choice. That's how the programme is set up. Presumably to recreate police powers to seize computers and phones in matters of national security.

We smiled at the young woman not recognising PDQ. I don't think I'd ever say it but I'd know what it meant. Is it very dated now?

Also - how hard would it be to leave your 6 month old? Obviously that's why she's been picked but I don't think I'd have wanted to do it, even for a big prize.

WineBeforeWhine · 21/10/2025 09:35

I don’t think any of those being hunted have ever watched the programme.

Me too. They seem clueless about how it works.
The mother and daughter this week, going home for a family party!

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 30/10/2025 22:24

Seconded. The imagination has gone out of it.

Keepoffmyartichokes · 04/11/2025 07:48

I honestly think they completely ruined the end of this series. The hunted had next to no chance, making them go home with sentry cameras and then making them use their debit card to leave the car park was ridiculous. I don't think I will watchnit again.

ExpertInAbsolutelyZero · 04/11/2025 07:53

It agree, it was preposterous. It came across as totally scripted.
