Will I like it? I leave it entirely up to your judgement….

Well, it partly depends on the participants, but the premise of the show is great. I cannot wait!

CuckooPond · 08/10/2025 12:20

I’m not sure whether them being celebrities is going to make things more or less interesting. On the one hand, there’s something mildly amusing in itself about Celia Imrie, Clare Balding, Tom Daley and David Olusoga etc shooting each other daggers around the round table or putting on a cloak and skulking about in a castle. On the other, these are all people used to being filmed, and to acting, in many cases, which may make it all a lot less interesting, especially if many already know one another.

vincettenoir · 08/10/2025 16:15

I agree with pp that it will be less high stakes than the regular show. But then you have to factor in that these are a bunch of really watchable, entertaining people so that will make some great moments in itself. I think the celebs will want to stay until the end because that’s human nature but I’m guessing there will be less tears and tantrums, which is good, in my book.

Love Traitors, but the line up doesn't appeal.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/10/2025 17:43

I'm really looking forward to it. In the non-celeb version they can get away with telling whopping lies about themselves which wrongfoot the others, and the celebs won't be able to risk that. However, there will be some huge egos in there rubbing up against each other. They will be going through an enforced digital detox so no fans constantly massaging said huge egos. I'm hoping for some epic meltdowns.

gingercat02 · 08/10/2025 17:44

We are excited in our house. DS 17 loves traitors and the cast is decent, actual celebs.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/10/2025 17:48

Yes! Normally the so called celebrities are mostly people I've never seen or heard of before, but not this lot.

EdithBond · 08/10/2025 20:05

Thanks for the thread @CurlewKate 🙂

Been anticipating this for weeks. David Olusoga and Charlotte Church among other faves of mine.

TraitorsFan · 08/10/2025 20:12

I’m looking forward to seeing the actors playing themselves rather than whatever character the writer/director has given them to be.

They could adopt a different personality than their own, though, and for entertainment value it could change every day.

TraitorsFan · 08/10/2025 20:15

I’m also wondering how competitive the sports people will be in the physical challenges.

LindorDoubleChoc · 08/10/2025 20:20

I've been a complete faithful to the 3 series of The Traitors so far, and was completely hooked throughout.

But this celeb version can get to fuck afaic. I don't need more celebrities celebrating themselves in my life. Even though I love David Olusoga with all my heart, I won't be watching a second of it.

I have read that in the normal Traitors the contestants actually stay in the Premier Inn close to Inverness Airport. I wonder if the celebrities will be comfortable with that, especially since it’s 45 minutes away (according to a quick search) along roads which are not particularly straight.

My thoughts exactly. It's just flim flam.

I’m looking forward to it 😆

Mydahliasareshit · 08/10/2025 20:29

This is the programme I've been looking forward to most all year.
How soon for a Fry Flounce, if other people annoy him 😂

I agree with you and @vincettenoir that it’ll be different from the regular Traitors, as the US one is.

Some elements can’t happen, e.g. secret relationships, people lying about their profession or playing quieter/less astute than they really are. So no: “Paul just couldn’t be my son…but Ross is” mic drop moments.

But then other elements come into play because they know more about each other and how they might play. US Traitors features people who’ve competed in shows like Survivor, so others know their modus operandi.

So, perceived clever types like Stephen Fry may be got rid of early on. Even though it’s nothing to do with education, or even intelligence, and all about reading and winning over people. A brain surgeon won’t necessarily be good at it.

Like “I’m a Celeb” or Celeb Big Brother, there could be some unexpected friendships/alliances, clashes or meltdowns. But you get that in the regular one. Just juicier, I guess.

Bring it on!

IMHO Maddy (Season 1), who is an actor (“played a homeless woman in East Enders), played a part she’d scripted in her own head. Her iconic roundtable scene.

Conniebygaslight · 09/10/2025 06:34

Absolutely loved it…..Alan Carr made me laugh so much!

SanFairyAnnie · 09/10/2025 10:11

No spoliers but why are there only 19 celebs ? Did someone drop ot before filming started?

gingercat02 · 09/10/2025 12:53

I wondered why this was so quiet, there is a busier, long running thread here

I am really loving it too. Normally I am not fussed about the normal traitors show. But I really like the celeb version. I love Alan Care anyway. I think Jonathan Ross is a good traitor although I wonder if they will suss him out. Clare Balding was very on the money with her suggestion about Alan.
