With Jude Law and Jason Bateman. Anyone watching? 3 episodes in and whilst I’m enjoying it, it’s really quite a stressful watch with not many likeable characters. I
also feel like Jason Bateman is miscast as the wayward chaotic brother. He looks the part alright but seems to be playing Vince pretty much as his character Marty in Ozark. He’s too switched on to be a gambling loser drug addict.

Having said that Bateman does have a knack for projects that crank up the tension (also like Ozark) and it is palpable with each episode.

I watched the first episode, found it a bit formulaic. Jude Law’s accent annoyed me too.

BG2015 · 20/09/2025 16:04

We gave up after the first episode, just found it a bit boring.

I was really looking forward to this, but even after three episodes I don’t find it as compelling as I’d like. There’s also too many characters and I agree that JB is miscast.

I have just watched episode 3. Shades of Ozark, notice that Laura Linney from Ozark is involved. Quite enjoying it though.

Jellyheadbang · 21/09/2025 14:18

Enjoying it, was not keen at first, mainly because Jude law as an American felt hammy, cliched and miscast.
I have got into it though as like the pace and storyline. Really difficult to watch , especially in the daytime due to that awful dark dingy nighttime filming so many people do now. Sometimes I’m watching it almost blind

Gave up after episode 2, very disappointed.

I’ve 2 episodes left and am quite enjoying it. It got better after the 1st episode. No likeable characters though apart from the lovely chef, Roxie and Wes! Some episodes directed by Jason Bateman I think and others Laura Linney.

it’s a bit chaotic but I need to see how it ends now.

Who are these people? Everyone has fashionable hair and outfits at all times of the day and are just over it cool all of the time? What kind of world is this? No one sleeps or eats even at a restaurant. Is this what actors think real life is like? I am trying to follow along, but most of the time I am just thinking, 'Oh bullshit'.

curiositykilledthiscat · 01/10/2025 15:37

I just finished it. Very disappointed - I couldn’t accept Jason Bateman in his role and the episodes felt samey and rather boring. The general story had potential but the storytelling was poor.

Sidebeforeself · 01/10/2025 17:05

Well I loved it! Thought the ending was poor though

ElsaSnow · 03/10/2025 17:51

I think it took about 3 episodes for me to get into it. At first I didn’t care about the storyline or the characters and was meh. But I persevered and ended up enjoying it. The last 2 episodes were interesting as told bits from their childhood.

Blahblahmama1 · 04/10/2025 09:11

Yep, I enjoyed it and have recommended it to others. The brothers both found peace in their own way.

Thebigonesgetaway · 04/10/2025 09:17

We liked it and thought the actors played it well, Jason Bateman very well.
