I'm just so fed up wasting my time watching this drivel.
They killed off good characters to replace them with an endless procession of baddies.
There's nothing I remotely care about at the moment.

I’m beginning to feel the same. If I have visitors and miss the occasional episode I’d usually watch it before going to bed. I’m at the stage now I can’t be arsed with it.

I didn't watch emmerdale for the six years Robert was gone. Have restarted watching just for him and honestly dont feel like I've missed much lol.

Me too. I switched Eastenders off last week, can see myself doing the same with Emmerdale soon.

I missed last night’s, and won’t watch it, just losing interest. Stopped watching Eastenders a couple of months ago, and don’t miss it at all.

Cain, Charity, Ross, Caleb and Kim are the best they’ve got …they have some pzazz so much dead wood hanging about. Oh and Ruby I kind of like her now.

Yeah me too. I only watch it for my 87 yo dad bless him. This thread really makes it worthwhile continuing. I have often pondered on whether I will continue watching it when dad is gone and I think I would especially if this thread lives on ❤️

If I got rid of all the pointless/annoying characters there would be hardly anyone left. They seem to persist in giving big stories to people who can't act and keeping on people who've been there for decades and now serve no purpose.

The village is full of idiots now.

Hard disagree on Mary! I love her! But I’m totally on board with ditching Vanessa. What does she even do anymore? Ditto for Kerry. Amy’s death should have been a huge story for her, but she just looked a bit sad for a couple of episodes, said “I were a rotten mam, man” and then went straight back to being moving wallpaper. (Matty proved similarly useless in the same storyline, but they’ll never actively axe the only trans character in soap.)

Is there realistically anything more that can be done with Bob? Will Charles ever do anything that doesn’t involve a wedding or a funeral again? Jai has been reduced to a ridiculous parody of himself, while Noah is turning into a background player in the stories of his more interesting family.

Yep agree Kerry is another waste of space she shouldn’t have been brought back …

Time for another major plane/boat/train/bus/tram/helicopter crash surely.

Or maybe John can come back and run riot with a variety of medieval weapons.

I get this totally. Mum and I watched Corrie for decades, and we always discussed it, it was our thing. After she passed last year, I still watched it, and still do, although it’s pretty rubbish. I always think of her when the opening credits roll.
