How do you manage your tv viewing, apps etc?

Because tv is now across so many platforms I find it difficult to manage what I want to watch, to remember to watch them and to actually get round to finishing series etc.

I currently use Just Watch to search for specific films and series that I want to watch but I find it clunky, are there any alternatives to it that I should look at?
I use the search and watch list features on my Netflix, Prime etc but it would be so much easier for me if there was just one app where I could see my watchlist items all in one place before opening the relevant app to view it and also to follow if any older shows are available to stream (Duchess of Duke Street I'm looking at you!). I spend more time looking at the apps to decide what to watch (and adding even more to my watchlist) than I spend actually viewing the film!

Talk to me about how you organise your viewing please.

I have a very small Roku box and the search on that will show which channels are playing anything that's covered by the Roku umbrella, so that includes terrestrial TV channels, streaming channels which you can download as apps and Netflix, Prime, Disney etc. it shows if you'll be charged to watch each item too on some channels, plus it includes a YouTube search.

However, like you I spend more time searching than watching sometimes, and as I'm subscribed to so many channels I find I'm neglecting to watch some of them.

There was just a one off price to pay for the Roku box and remote control around 5 years ago, I think it was around £23

We tend to just guess and look at each app before we find the show we want. Actually considering getting a pad and pen to keep track 🤣🤣

Makes you miss the christmas radio times and going through it with a highlighter to plan your choices.

It's still available but much harder to lift through all the crap.

I keep a list of anything I want to watch under headings such as iplayer, C4, Netflix etc and the dates they are available then delete them when watched.

I also use Just Watch and another similar website Reelgood, I also check the Radio Times each week, it's free on PressReader from your local library, as there is a streaming section in it which shows the new releases and to check out the terrestrial channels. I then add things either to watchlists or with Sky, download the first episode. I also look at the streaming forum on digital spy to see what others enjoy, likewise Telly Addicts threads on here. I also check ratings on IMDb as well.
