For all Beck fans there are two new long episodes coming to BBC4 starting this Saturday 9th August at 9pm.
The first episode is called Vilhelm and the second, the following week, called The Invisible Man. Two more episodes are in the pipeline.
Unfortunately they are without his wonderful boozy neighbour played by Ingvar Hirdwall who unfortunately died in 2023.

Thanks for the heads up. Love Beck and his thoughtful deductions. Love the interplay between the team too.

I've just seen this listed and was about to start a thread, but remembered to check if there was one already.

I just cant remember the end of the last series, and for some reason thought that he had died.

I hope they give us a quick reminder of what happened last time!

I'm out this evening, so I've just put it on record.

I couldn’t resist watching both episodes back to back. Great acting from the team especially though I thought Beck was a little too back of house. Here’s hoping more get aired soon.

Old Beck that is. Of course he’s handing the Barton to new Beck.

I started watching the first one and am afraid I though junior Beck such a pain and just irritating, I gave up.

Although in all truth, I thought the loss of Gunvald made the series a bit weaker.

They are all so bland now.

And the dialogue has also become narrower.

I also thought Vilhelm was very annoying and totally charmless. Loved the little moment on the balcony when the "real" Beck silently toasted the empty balcony where his old neighbour used to stand.Poignant.

Yes, I tried again to watch it and that scene made me realise just how it is now just a standard cop show.

Shame

Have tried watching the latest episode but it just isn't interesting me. Agree that Wilhelm is not an engaging character at all. Time to retire the series??
