Is anyone watching this? Absolutely frightening and equally fascinating at the same time. Very much real life Line of Duty or The Wire vibes. It's a very scary world.

Netflix?

Totallybannanas · 29/07/2025 23:09

It's on channel 4, it's about encrochat which was a communication network used by organised gangs, involving weapons, drugs and torture chambers. It was a big undercover investigation by NCA in the UK a few years ago.

Fascinating so far, can't wait to see last night's episode. Has been good to see such co-operation between police forces of different countries to ensure the cover isn't blown.

sweatervest · 30/07/2025 14:23

i nearly fell off the sofa watching it. honestly there are some baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad people about.
also am just about to watch the second episode.
it makes 24 hours in police custody look like the one show

Middlemarch123 · 30/07/2025 15:31

Scary isn’t it. I’ve only just started watching, what an eye opener. Fascinating.

tennissquare · 30/07/2025 21:06

This is excellent, really watchable.

It's made by the same people isn't it?

I have only watched episode 1 so far, after seeing a recommendation on here for the series. I think I might be starting to feel anxious recently, but I find it chilling to think that these men are out there, no doubt active in the city I live in. Young, arrogant, violent, amoral men with money, power and weapons. And then the desperate men with little to lose who do their bidding. And then you think about the lives that they destroy with their drugs and sex trafficking and violence, and the ripple effects on communities.

legolegoeverywhereandnotadroptodrink · 03/08/2025 21:04

Totally gripped. So many twists and turns. I cant stop watching

but will probably have nightmares

PositivityVibes · 03/08/2025 21:14

I’ve just watched all of them, it was brilliant, made Jaguar Palace seem
like CBeebies!
Can’t help thinking who’s replaced them and how they now communicate.

tennissquare · 03/08/2025 21:18

@PositivityVibes , yes I keep wondering what system they use now, I'm sure it won't allow photos of views of the sea, containers and pets!
I also agree they seem so violent, far more than the tv shows I watch.

Needhelp101 · 03/08/2025 22:02

I've just started watching it too, gripping indeed. I thought too it must be the same production company as 24 Hours in Police Custody, as they clearly know how to make pacy, dark, fascinating crime documentaries.

thenightsky · 03/08/2025 22:36

Place marking to remind me to watch this.
