Netflix: Critical Amazing NHS

Given all the negativity about the supposed failure of the NHS watching this amazing documentary about trauma centres in London really shows the team work of the NHS at its best.

It is gory, with lots of surgery scenes - great for people like me who find it fascinating but I totally understand it's not everyone's bag.

Astonishing stories showing the impact of trauma on individuals and their families and what it takes to manage critical injuries. It also looks at stories of the surgeons - so many have personal connections to the work they do and how hard they try to do their best for their patients.

It further reinforces my fear and hatred of motorbikes - if my children ever try to get on one I will be making them watch this.

I watched the first three episodes last night, it was brilliant. The trauma response system in London is second to none. The MaxFax surgery was incredible! I cried when I saw how much trauma Jack was dealing with after his attack and how empathetic the surgeon was towards him.

As a side note, it also made me so proud of all the Muslim doctors and surgeons within the NHS - we're often portrayed very negatively in the media so it made me joyful to see a positive light shone on them.
