Yes. Entertaining with some humour. Looked like Keeley enjoyed being kick ass!

Godlessdomestic · 28/07/2025 13:50

Binged it over the last couple of evenings. It was enjoyable.

EllatrixB · 28/07/2025 13:53

I just watched the first episode but it irritated me pretty early on when a character in 1994 Bulgaria asked, why didn't you email me, or text?

Very few people were emailing or texting anything in 1994, surely?!

Hairymunter · 28/07/2025 17:30

It was a bit stupid sometimes but entertaining enough. I enjoyed it.

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 28/07/2025 19:04

Required belief to be suspended throughout but easy enough watching. I was bored by the last episode and can’t even say how it ended even though I watched it all.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 28/07/2025 20:04

Binge watched it on Saturday. Quite daft and not going to win any BAFTAs but we enjoyed it.

Yes, would recommend.

HelenHywater · 28/07/2025 20:32

I watched it over the weekend too - enjoyed it!

And spoke on a mobile phone in the same era

Chazbots · 28/07/2025 20:46

I was emailing in 1990 and more or less chatted DH up via email in 1994 but it was very much intranet. My pal had a mobile phone in 1992/3 because she hated sharing the house phone but it was pretty rare.

It really was rare! I don't think I sent my first email until 1996, and that necessitated about twenty minutes of faffing/preparation/logging on 😂

Spoilers

So loved the first episodes and thought it was an excellent premise but although I guessed some of it, still thought the pay-off was dire.
And we're expected to think the Good Doctor got over his FIL arranging a hit on his dad, his BIL sleeping with his first "mum"/poisoner (oh mummy, ick) and his second "mum" being an even bigger liar than he thought then all sailing into the sunset to meet the surrogate.
Hmm. Preferred Salt and Long Kiss Goodnight. Keeley gave it her all though.

NigelPonsonbySmallpiece · 30/07/2025 06:02

Have to say I am normally shit at recognising actors but picked up this guy was the Good Doctor immediately. I’d always assumed his portrayal of autism was acting in that but while not as pronounced he still at times had similar mannerisms, way of talking and facial expressions. I actually googled to see if he was autistic in real life but apparently not. He’s not the best actor in this. Much better portraying someone who is stilted and doesn’t need to display emotion…..where as this was surely the opposite of this and at times I felt he was still playing The Good Doctor even when his life was in danger and I’d have expected a bit more emotion.

jay55 · 30/07/2025 10:55

I didn’t follow all the threads half the time.
But thought it was good silly fun.
Always nice to see Jim Robinson and Miles. It was a good series for oh that’s what’s his name spotting.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 30/07/2025 22:28

Not loving it at all and it's far too silly for me to be this confused 🫣.

I’m enjoying it, some good one liners

the80sweregreat · 01/08/2025 11:17

I found it enjoyable in a really strange way as the whole thing was nuts. So many bodies , I lost count, yet Julie’s hair was never out of place once.
I kept thinking the dad and Kayla and the brother had slight Aussie accents, but didn’t recognize him from neighbours at all. He looks like an older Daniel Craig now.
Kayla actress was in ‘ the tourist ‘ and was very good, but the chemistry with her and Edward wasn’t there at all. Lovely yacht though , how the other half live eh?
It was glossy and funny at times, but how they get away with so many murders is incredible! Lol

the80sweregreat · 01/08/2025 11:19

The one playing Marie had a strange mouth. She was incredibly sexy in this , but I found her lips a bit distracting!

WingBingo · 01/08/2025 18:19

Very silly yet enjoyable, I thought. I also did need to suspend belief

Notsurewheretostarthere · 01/08/2025 18:22

I've watched two, and slept through two. I thought it would be great but it's way too cheesy.
The line 'OK. So a doughnut' was so jarring and it felt like the acted hated saying the words.
It's thumbs down from me, though I did like the lovely shots of the olive groves etc at the start.

the80sweregreat · 01/08/2025 18:27

I liked the Butcher a lot. At least he seemed upset at the amount of bodies that had piled up previously. Julie was too busy being cool to notice his trauma.
The Dutch IT man was also funny.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 02/08/2025 08:27

i did enjoy this,
it had to end i guess but i wasnt totally convinced by the final ending but on the whole glad i saw it through, bit of light relief

the80sweregreat · 02/08/2025 09:14

spoilers :

wanted to meet the real mum ! Instead they all had a jolly time on the boat ( once they cleaned up where she had previously murdered Sean, but that was all sorted out by then I suppose !)

Anonemouse1 · 02/08/2025 22:43

Really enjoyed Keeley in this. The actor who played her son was terrible, one tone all the way through. Ending ridiculous and confusing, how many potential mothers does one man need?
