How to record TV programmes now (giving up VBox)

This is probably in the wrong place but hopefully someone can help.

I have been skipping adverts and credits since the VHS/betamax wars and have been using Virgin box since vhs went poooof but unfortunately I now have to give this up too. I can't stream as it can take me weeks to watch an episode of something due to health conditions so is there anything I can use to record programmes to keep until I am ready to watch? Preferably with a series link ability please.

TIA

You can buy a freeview recorder box. If you google ‘freeview recorder’ you’ll see some results come up for Argos etc so you can do some research.

Otherwise if you want a different subscription - we have EE tv and that came with a box that we can record on. Streaming things annoys me as you have to sit through adverts and also not everything is on streaming platforms for that long. I prefer to record and watch when I’m ready.

Thank you! I'm not sure what my future financial situation will be so would rather buy outright than do subscriptions at this point, although I've never heard of EE tv.
