White lotus season 3

Hi all I watched white lotus season 3 over the last couple of weeks. I thought it would all be explained. But I am still confused about g Greg/Gary who was the husband of Tanya the woman who died in season 2. In season 2 we see a photo that is supposed to be him in the bay guy’s bedroom. So I thought that indicated he may be his pay lover in the past. In season 3 their relationship was not really explained. Just that he was hiding in Thailand and not wanting to be questioned by police. He does not appear to be gay as he has a hot young girlfriend. All she says is that she thinks he is capable of killing.

also the story about Rick going to kill a man that he thought killed his father before he was born seems a bit far fetched. There was not much to the story or it was not fully explained. Did anyone else think that?

Loved season 1 and 2 but thought season 3 was a bit shit. I didn't bother trying to connect the dots.

i THINK his mother told him that that guy, who was his dad, had killed his dad vindictively as she was pissed of with him, think that was sort of said.

Greg - i have no idea and was confused in all series what/who he was.

I wish the end was differntly. I wanted to know what happened with the Rattlifs

I think the Greg character is the link between all the seasons, so when they get to the final season, all the dots will hopefully be connected.

I agree the dead father avenging death storyline was far fetched.

It has definitely been the weakest series - although good acting!

The three friends with the celeb/Trump voter/Bitter single mother were probably my favourite. I found them the most sympathetic.

The blackmail scene was done really well - I was watching between my fingers cringing. Same with the daughter who changed her mind about wanting to live in the monetary as the food wasn’t organic.

But the mother and son were the most disappointing in terms of character development.

All in all it had great moments, but weak overarching plot.

CalamityGanon · 13/07/2025 21:16

@scarydinosaursBut didn’t the daughter just make-up the ‘no organic food at the monestry ‘ excuse for not staying was because her brother wanted to stay as well? She didn’t want him ruining his life because he was younger and hadn’t finished his education so she just made an excuse so he wouldn’t throw his own life away?

I just thought Greg was a grifter. He married Tanya for her money. He clearly knew the gay gang and maybe asked them to get rid of her like a contract killing. What better alibi than being in a different country when she went missing/was murdered.

The third season was by far my favourite.

Sweetbeansandmochi · 13/07/2025 21:43

I just thought with Gary/Greg - that the actual reality of setting his wife up to die and inherit all her money had actually caused his living ‘death’. He was much more subdue, grumpy, distant, controlling although his actual interest in Tanya from the start was a bit weird. So, thinking about it, maybe she was a ‘mark’ all along and he’s alway been a monster of a man?

Scarydinosaurs · 13/07/2025 22:47

@CalamityGanon did she? That wasn’t how I remember it - but maybe I should have paid more attention…I definitely thought she really was disappointed in the reality and changed her mind.

I thought the little brother was so lost. He would have been better there than with his family!

CalamityGanon · 14/07/2025 12:03

@ScarydinosaursThey were walking back from the monastery and she was saying how much she loved it and brother agreed saying he was going to stay too. She tries to persuade him not to as it was her dream not his and he’s throwing his future away because he hasn’t finished his education. The next thing you see is her telling her mother that she’s changed her because of the food as she knew brother wouldn’t stay without her.

Must admit a lot of the stories were a bit disjointed.
