Oh my word!
I have just watched the prime series, we were liars.

I’m Usually good at picking up on twists early, but this one I did not see coming (I haven’t read the book).
I pretty much cried the entire of the last episode, and I am not a crier (Prosecco might be a reason though 😂)

Did anyone else feel the same way about this series?

It’s one of my favourite books. The first time I read it I didn’t see the twist at all.

I gave up during the first episode as it seemed so slow and repetitive. Does is speed up?

Yes it definitely gets better. I almost gave up on the first episode.

Read the book which was good. Gave up on the series so wooden and cringe.

I don't want to be one of those people but I guessed the twist. Not the fire (or the dogs!) but the gist of the twist.

I enjoyed the aesthetics, the clothes (mainly the mothers) And I loved the house/island set up. I just wasn't convinced about the liars relationships/realisation that the grandpa wasn't great etc.

Plus as soon as the main girl (can't remember her name) devised her plan and the others agreed I lost sympathy for them.

I thought Ewan McGregors daughter was ok but I was distracted but how much she looked like the Aussie girl from Lost!

The way they spoke it was so wooden and weird. Awful script. Watched it with teens we all gave up after 20 mins. We’d all read the book which we thought was great.. We had just finished white lotus so comparing to that which is about 10000 times better

The script was written (in part) by Scarlett Curtis who is the daughter of Richard Curtis and Emma Freud. If you follow her Instagram she has TikTok's of people crying at the end!

So glad I saw this thread - I wasn't expecting the ending (I'm not normally shocked by endings) and I'm way too old for this 💩 and I'm in tears 🫣.

It's like nepotism central if you are fond of Wiki-ing while watching. I also feel old watching the little girl who played the young Amanda Clark in Revenge playing the lead 😳.
