Can’t see a current thread so apologises if there is one but still

I can’t believe they decided to add the baby to the games…quickly showed how violent some people get when money is involved though

I have just finished season 3. I have never shouted at the tv so much in my life. Loved it though.

I’m kinda disappointed they didn’t go in another direction with it. Seems like a lot of loose ends. Seoung Gi-Hun’s arch is wrapped up okay I guess, but it didn’t feel like anyone else was.

Still, I enjoyed it well enough.

who did the baby and up with in the end?

The last person the baby is seen with is Jun-Ho, so I guess he is the guardian for now. For some reason, I thought No-Eul would be from the way she was observing the final round.

I really wasn't expecting that ending, and I think it should be left alone. Not everything needs a US version.

Tormundsbeard · 30/06/2025 12:44

Surely that’s the end. I don’t think we need more.
i thought it was an excellent final season.

We loved it! Having done some research seems no more to be made. Looks like there might be a squid game challenge 2 in the pipeline though.

loved the jump-rope!

Have finished it now. Spoilers ahead!

I think it’s right to end at S3 and Gi Hun’s story arc completed the way it did.
Found the VIPs really jarring and acting was terrible. What was the point of them wearing masks if they already knew what each other looked like. I could have done without them.
Poor Jun Ho, spent almost the entire season on a boat and after all that his brother doesn’t even so much as acknowledge him.
I thought No-Eul was going to go save the baby but no she just went on the boat! Didn’t make sense.
Including the baby as 222 in the game introduced all kinds of bleakness to the story. Although I kept thinking how unrealistic it was, not including the CGI. It was unrealistically quiet for a newborn and hardly needed feeding or so much as a nappy change!
The ending with the game of Daaki was unexpected. I’ve read they want to develop an American version but I really hope they leave it. Being set in South Korea and in native language made it unique.

I read that this was a conscious decision by the director. Historically, American movies and TV have used stereotypes and caricatures when creating Asian characters. They also use, for example, Japanese actors to portray a South Korean character so the accent and mannerisms are wrong but this isn't picked up by the average American viewer. In Squid Game, the director wanted the American characters to be cheesy and over the top as thats how Asian characters appear in American films.

I think it would have been way better if each squid game season was a different location with a whole host of new characters and dynamic. I found it boring to have one thrust carried over three seasons and I also found this last season slow and repetitive

Was it deliberate though? I thought it was just poor dialogue. The VIPs was the only issue I had with the series, the acting was awful and the dialogue even worse. Nobody talks the way they did to each other.

Baby 222 was massively unrealistic with the quietness, lack of feeding and not a single nappy change, but this happens in virtually everything that has a newborn. Saw 28 years later at the cinema the other night and the newborn in that was the same.
