We’ve got a busy weekend sp didn’t want to start and then not be able to watch anymore so I will report back once we’ve started it next week!

Watched episode 1 tonight, had to stop there though as it was too late!
Thought it was great start. Usual chaos, but with good feeling too - Richie still my favourite 😍 ("I wear suits now" is the best line!)

I've watched it all but can't comment without spoilers.
Look forward to reading others. How can that work if everyone is watching at a different pace?

I'm two episodes in, love seeing all the characters again hope this season is better than the last one, seems ok so far

Overall I quite liked s4 but it feels like it needs to be wrapped up now.

Gosh, it’s exhausting! Three episodes in and I need a rest.

I felt the first two episodes were (as well as outstandingly brilliant) just a tad more mannered than I would like. But episode 3 felt more real.

I’m going to be so bereft , once again, when I get to the end.

Really loving it. It’s so intense, but at the same time they give things room to breathe.

Four episodes left - I’m going to try to leave three for tomorrow …

I started the first episode of the new season and about 15 minutes in thought I’m not properly watching anymore and I have zero hopes for any of them or how it pans out so I think I’m out.
Started off so strong but it’s just bleak upon bleak and I can’t be arsed caring about Carmen anymore- like even if the restaurant became a mad success and he found love it’ll still find a way to bring you down

I'm loving the intensity and the acting is so authentic

Finished it earlier this evening.

Just occasionally I found it too slow for TV - felt as if I were watching a play on stage. I missed a central element that was focused on more in previous seasons, but enjoyed the democratic way they gave every main character their time in the spotlight.

Yeah season 5 has been confirmed. I loved season 4. No spoilers but I found it had a lot of comedy in, which is a criticism often levelled at it.
im really torn by who I think the best actor is. Jamie Leigh Curtis outshines anyone she’s in a room with, she’s excellent. But ebon moss bachrach…. God I just think he’s sublime. You can really feel when he’s hurting or pleased or surprised.
the last four episodes were my favourites I think, I wish they dropped them week by week so I could have eked it out a little longer!

I actually found Jamie Lee Curtis’s sections … tedious. Just too much. Over egged. And hard to believe.

But don’t want to spoil!

ah that’s interesting - I found it quite emotional. I thought she was superb in ice chips from season three as well.

Ebon is an incredible actor, I was saying to DH that he is the one person in it that I can't see as an actor playing his character, but purely as Richie. It's really very rare to see an actor really being their character so consistently.

I agree series 4 has been very disappointing. A lot of shouting but very little of anything else.
I enjoyed it when they showed all the back history of the restaurant staff and how they came to work at The Bear. Can’t remember which series it was.
