Just discovered Mrs Merton is on iplayer!

So it had been a crap day, in a crap week from a crap year. I was looking for something else on iPlayer and just discovered Mrs Merton is there. Apologies if it has been there all along but thought I would post in case other people of a certain age were not aware. Caroline Ahere was a bloody genius and so ahead of her time. Starting with the Bernard Manning one....

Yes she was amazing. I’m from Manchester n the royale family is a comfort watch. I still adapt her famous phrase for the younger wives with the older ugly men around where I live - ‘what was it attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels’

I often read some of the responses to relationship threads with an internal Mrs Merton voice. "So what attracted you to this drunken , druggie, gambling cheat OP?" would be a prime example.

@dointhebestwecan, that has passed into the UK psyche and is legendary! To be fair to the lovely Debbie McGee, she took it very well. Caroline Ahern was just razor sharp, every episode is a gem.

I was a bit too young to watch this at the time although I remember it being on.
