Is anyone else watching series 3 of Ginny and Georgia on Netflix? We are on episode 4. What do you think? We are loving it. It is funny but also sad and thought provoking.

I’m watching. I’m finding it a bit of a slog compared to the earlier seasons.
Probably due to Ginny’s situation, it’s more fun when she’s out causing chaos as a way to balance the teen angst stuff.

Watched it all at the weekend. Loved it. Best series yet.

I agree @Boohoo76 - fantastic series. Poor Georgia though, surrounded by weak men her whole life, with only ever herself to rely on. Love her!

Think I'm on episode 7 now and really enjoyed this season, the actors who play Ginny and Georgia this season have been amazing, there acting has given the characters so much more depth and think that is obviously due to the situations the are placed in.

DD15 and I finished it last night. Best season by far we thought. Lost count of the times I commented to DD how badly most of the men in this series came off. Zion taking Ginny away from Georgia, Paul being really weak, Wolf's reaction to Ginny's "news" etc. Only good men for me were Joe and Max/Marcus's dad really. The latter's relationship with his wife and kids really grew on me this series. Also loved Abby, having not taken much notice of her before.

I watched it over the weekend. I really enjoyed it. And for me, it felt a littl emore pointed in terms of acknowledging her poor behaviour but also providing context for that.

I'm also enjoying the slightly more rounding of some of the other characters, especially Max and Abbey. I really identified with Max - I think they're all treating her really badly actually when she has always been the most loyal.

And of course, it's a great portrayal of generational trauma in the way Ginny's personality is hardening.

Marcus is annoying. I am not sure I bought into the rapid descent into alcoholism. And it took away from what felt like some very nuanced insight into depression.

ETA: I also think that Zion has to take on a LOT more responsibility than just taking Ginny away during the trial. The reality is that he may have always loved Ginny but he ALWAYS defaulted to letting Georgia take care of her so he doesn't get to whine about how that happened. His horror at car-camping made me roll my eyes - he was off in Korea or wherever. What did he think was happening!?

ILoveBrum · 12/06/2025 22:24

Completely agree with all of that @MattCauthon

Finished this series yesterday, great to watch with teen dd.

Overall enjoyed it, felt really sorry for Max at the end but thought it was realistic portrayal of teen girls and how fickle they can be with their friends.

I thought the Wolfes reaction was also v accurate and I thought that storyline was well handled.

Zion is too distractingly handsome that I never process anything he says 🙈😂

My guess is next season Austin will turn violent, tbf the situation he’s in would fuck anyone up let alone a sensitive kid!

Edited

I'm around episode 5 and this pretty much echoes our conversations.

Georgia has made many mistakes, but Christ, she has been let down by every single man in her life.

I was horrified as well that her mother is still with the stepdad 😲. Her life has been terribly traumatic.

Zion 🤦🏾‍♀️. Better late than never, but he's been and is being such a disappointment. His mother begged him to take both children, but he fumbled that too...
I mean, who hears that a child has shot at his dad and doesn't even question why?

All round, best season yet.

Cormoransjacket · 15/06/2025 17:40

We watched episode 5 last night. I was so sad when the children were removed from Georgia. How old is Ginny? Surely she must be very nearly old enough to make her own decison about where she lives and who with. I hope Austin will be OK. If he tells the social workers that his dad is abusive would he be put in foster care? If Gill has PR will Austin struggle to get away from him? I suppose the laws are slightly different in the US. I think Zion has wrecked his relationship with Ginny.

It’s mentioned in the last episode next year is junior year so Ginny would be 15/16.

Cormoransjacket · 20/06/2025 14:59

We watched the last episode last night. Poor Austin. I can't believe he did that. Ginny is turning into her Mum. I have read that the next series will begin filming later this year. I was a bit confused about Zion "suing for joint custody". Surely at Ginny's age if she wants to stay with her Dad some of the time she justs says so and it can happen.

Ginny was abit mean to Max. However, she does not have an automatic right to know and discuss everyone's business. I hope Marcus will be OK. He is a nice lad.

Finished the latest series tonight - I physically hurt for Max through those last few episodes. She’s my favourite by far!

Crinkle77 · 13/07/2025 17:05

I struggled with this season. I thought Georgia actually deserved to go to prison. She might have been doing Tom a 'kindness' but that wasn't her decision to make. Ginny is so self absorbed. Always bringing any conversation round to herself. And their treatment of Max was horrible. Plus I could see it coming a mile off that Georgia would be pregnant and it would be guess the daddy. The actor playing Marcus is soooo good looking.
