Never occured to me that you can do this.

But have now seen a couple of how to videos (on youtube!) and it seems to be fairly simple.

Go to apps ie links to streaming services.

Hold remote button down while on the YouTube app and a menu should appear with an option to delete.

See this video (sorry you will need youtube to watch it!)

Another video says if you dont get the menu with the option to delete go to the youtube app and click on the info butten which brings up another menu that also has the delete option.

Hope this helps.

And if it works can you post about how easy it was to do?

Watching with interest.

Thank you, I'll try this, although Freeview Play doesn't seem to have an App menu. We are using a Manhatten T4 R set top box, so not a smart tv.

Really don't want kids to have access to YouTube as blocked on all other devices.

They dont mean an app.

Its just young people using a different word for you having access to streaming channels via the Freeview Play screen that displays the links to YouTube etc..

Just point you remote control at it.

If you watch the video you will see it is just a tv screen with the Home page displayed after you press the big F button.

I can’t help with youtube (my DH did manage to delete it off our skybox though - no idea how! But thank god he did) but I discovered you can ‘block’ shows on netflix. You can block them on some profiles, eg the kids’ ones, but not others if you like. I may have blocked a few of the most irritating ones (i.e. Sam & Cat - Ariana Grande’s ridiculous whiny voice as Cat drove me demented. I bought noise cancelling headphones purely to block it out and her stupid voice CUT RIGHT THROUGH)

My daughter asked me why it had disappeared and i just shrugged and said ‘oh, netflix must have decided to remove it’

Thank you but none of the above have working. Think it's because it's a set top box rather than a smart tv.

sorry about that - I thought one of the videos was about a set top box.

But now you have said this, I suppose that is logical.

Hmm

We managed to delete it on our tv but the kids managed to find it again by looking through the apps. We did manage to put a password onto YouTube by changing the tv settings though and it now has a 4-digit pin to open it (which the kids don't know). This has been successful and means we can still watch YouTube if we want to. You might find that easier to do.
