How odd, I have this morning (i know, should be doing something more constructive - like beng on here) watched the last two episodes on sky+.

I've spent the whole series wondering whether there was a Boden/Alice thread on mumsnet - was there?

Tis a strange ending. Wonder if there will be another series?

somebody should be shot....and I'm not sure who! When this first aired it was so refreshing. I loved the way they nearly met. Sting's wife was hilarious as the 'randy' neighbour to Gill. I heard that the guy playing Gill didn't want to carry on but I have struggled to watch this and have finally given up. There's nothing much after I'll do anything....

Agree Bookend, I've only dipped in and out of this series, it hasn't worked for me.

BBC refused to re-commission it as an hour-long drama series when Landes bailed. It just did not get the ratings first time round, so DR and the team were told half-hour sitcom format or nothing.
The builder was in a bad blond wig because he and his colleague were supposed to look like Montserrat and Sheridan and be their soulmates. He just looked mad tbh.
I think it still had its incidental pleasures (sorry but I PMSL at the ruthlessness of the student actor's roleplaying trick, that is exactly the sort of callous and destructive thing a student actor would do), but reviving it was misguided.
