Is there anything else like this? I’ve watched the latest three episodes, realised that seems to be it for this season and am now scrabbling around in the schedules and streamers for something similar, that hits the sweet spot of informative, calm and non-gratuitous true crime tv. Oh, and if someone of the calibre of Siobhan Finneran could narrate it too…

The only other thing I’ve found so far is 24 Hours in Police Custody but it’s just a bit too exciting to be a regular watch for me Grin.

We liked that one and also 24 hours for being informative. We enjoyed Murder Trial: the.... On BBC iPlayer for the same reasons. Fascinating look at a trial. A few episodes available.

Oh yes, I remember watching that. Murder Trial is good but I prefer the investigation side I think. I clearly have very niche tastes!

The Detectives: Taking Down an OCG was great!

The weird thing is shortly after we watched it, DH and I caught a taxi home and the driver was a Mancunian former gang member, from a different gang. He was clearly on something and spent the entire (terrifying) journey waxing lyrical about his days with ‘the boys’, what the show/police got wrong, and about how the Trafford Centre was the best place on earth.

Channel 5 also has a forensics series on at the moment. An American Murder on Netflix is also very good.

No recommendations but I’m also a bit disappointed that there have only been 3 episodes in this series. I can understand that they must be very time consuming and expensive to make though.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/04/2025 20:50

There is also a forensics program on Ch5. Not as good as the one on BBC. But ok.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/04/2025 20:50

Also watch cause of death. Thats very interesting.

xmasstuffing · 01/04/2025 20:58

I really enjoy this program too and it is a shame there have only been 3 new episodes this series. “Murder 24/7” (iplayer) is a good watch, follows a real time investigation. There is also “forensics murder scene” on ch5 and “forensics catching the killer” on sky crime which are good watches if you like the science side of things.

Thanks everyone, have put these on my list 🙏🏻

I’m half way through the first episode now. Such a sad thing to happen.
