Just that really. Thanks.

Not really. I have it anyway as I have Apple One. I think I have watched only a few things on it. Severence, Bad Sisters. Actually, I can’t think of anything else.

SocksPants · 29/03/2025 22:40

Probably, if only for the brilliant Slow Horses.
Do you bank with Barclays, if so you might get it for free?

skippy67 · 29/03/2025 22:43

There are a few 6 month free trial offers out there.
Bad Sisters and Slow Horses are both brilliant.

NCTDN · 29/03/2025 22:44

You def need to watch Ted Lasso! We get it for free with Barclays.

Raquelos · 29/03/2025 22:45

It's got a few good things that I have really enjoyed: The Morning Show, Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest are a few. But, it is very easy to watch all of the good content imo. I tend to switch between Apple and Disney and binge-watch the good stuff then take a break every few months.

FixThisKindOfFeeling · 29/03/2025 22:48

It’s ok. Things I’ve watched on it are Slow Horses, Severance, Ted Lasso, Prime Target, The Gorge, Silo.

I mainly watch Netflix and Amazon though and Apple isn’t as good as those.

LUBAR · 29/03/2025 22:48

YES! Severance and Slow Horses!

ScribblingPixie · 29/03/2025 22:50

I think it's great, better than any service apart from NOW TV in my opinion. I've had it a few weeks, and there are a lot of high-quality shows that don't seem to get too much coverage but are more female-friendly than most. Loot, about a woman with billions looking to find meaning in life, is fun. Pachinko is an amazing drama about a young Korean woman living in Japan that goes from pre WWII to high-finance in 1990 Tokyo. Shrinking, a comedy drama about psychiatrists with Harrison Ford is really good. Also The Studio, a comedy with Seth Rogan has just started. And there's something with Cate Blanchett I haven't explored yet.

TidyDancer · 29/03/2025 22:51

I don’t think it is tbh. I loved Bad Sisters but other than that I haven’t bothered with it.

MissConductUS · 29/03/2025 22:52

I did a three month free trial and loved Ted Lasso and Masters of the Air (set in WWII Britain) and let it expire as there wasn’t much else that grabbed me. It’s worth a try.

AlphabetBird · 29/03/2025 22:54

Get it for a couple of months and cancel - slow horses is incredibly good, and worth the subscription alone. Ted Lasso is lovely and very bingeable, and the rest is serviceable.

I’ ve cancelled, but will resubscribe for a couple of months when the next slow
horses is out and cancel prime for a bit!

ScribblingPixie · 29/03/2025 23:36

Remembered another show: if you liked Atlanta, the guy who played Paper Boy is the lead in Dope Thief. Good acting & atmosphere though very violent with one of those 'we're going to kill you, your family and everybody you love' themes.

Xerttinmyselfnot · 31/03/2025 09:42

Thanks everyone. I really fancy Severance and Slow Horses, so I might give it a go.

Bad Sisters was good as was The Crowded Room.

Slow Horses was soooooo slow I gave up.

Might watch Ted Lasso before my trial expires.

I wouldn't pay for it.

Notstrongandstable · 02/04/2025 17:59

Can anyone recommend suitable things on Apple to watch with a 13yo? They liked Prime Target, hated Ted Lasso.
swearing and violence ok but no sex if possible! Is Slow Horses suitable for 13 years old?
OP we liked Silo, Severance and Bad Sisters.

Tootingbec · 02/04/2025 18:04

I have the app on my phone and at various points have been offered a month free trial or (currently) 3 months free. You then can just log in using your Apple ID at watch it on your telly. I thought Bad Sisters was good and am enjoying The Studio. We Crashed (drama about the rise and fall of We Work founder) is good too!

Watched Prime Target but just for Leo Woodall oggling - it is actually a bit shit as a programme 🫠

TY78910 · 02/04/2025 18:05

Nobody mentioned Loot. If you want a laugh - it’s great!

I thought the first Slow Horses was a bit unpleasant violence-wise - kidnapping and a couple of graphic murders. I am racking my brains but can't remember any sex (in the first series; there was a small amount later on). Gary Oldman is unmissable in it IMO!

I love Loot. Fascinated that it's the same mansion that the female producer owns in The Studio - Apple must have built it as a set, so no doubt it'll crop up again.

hjokhjjjkkkd · 02/04/2025 18:37

It’s one of those ones I don’t watch as frequently as Netflix but has some unmissable shows, I love The Morning Show, Severance, The Servant, Trying, Sisters. Presumed Innocent was good too, watching Before atm. Some good films as well.

I used to store them up and re subscribe to binge, but I get it through my Barclays account now.
