For people to discuss the new Robert De Niro series on Netflix after finishing or as ongoing with spoilers allowed

What is this Who Killed Bambi Deficit the president seems to have?

I’m on Ep4! Thought I’d have to give up after Ep1 but the reviews were largely positive so I am persisting.

Loving the moments when he actually shows himself to be the most knowledgeable or wily person in the room.

Obvs it was filmed before Trump - but the general air of anarchy is making me feel horribly nauseous and insecure.

I'm only on episode 2. Are they portraying him as maybe developing dementia or something is being done unto him?

That’s what they’re portraying. I’m suspicious of his prescription drugs being tampered with.

And something interesting is asked in Ep3.

Bankholidayhelp · 22/02/2025 23:41

Just on episode 6. That was a turn! Never suspected his daughter. Nor that there was a love child.

Bankholidayhelp · 23/02/2025 00:45

Just finished it. Excellent . Robert is ace.

Barleysugar86 · 23/02/2025 00:50

Really enjoyed it. I've been ill today so binged all 6 episodes in one day from bed. I wish they'd spent a little longer looking at people's experiences in the power outages though, it would have been nice to see more stories there.

Hearmenow23 · 23/02/2025 05:40

I was really frustrated that the event just happened and we didn't see it. I assumed they didn't have the budget for it. I was really looking forward to this series, but it was disappointing. It just wasn't good enough.

cinnamonbunfight · 23/02/2025 06:00

Gave up after episode 2. Nice idea but got very boring very quickly.

Now … The interesting question in Ep3 was iirc asked by his old military pal who turned up at a funeral. He asked someone whether the former President had been experiencing various symptoms - the implication being that he too had experienced them.

So - despite the thing found in the final episode being deemed random and harmless - I suspect this has just been the set up for another series, where we’ll find out about concerted mind alteration of military personnel.

Edited

I've just finished and I agree - the bird feeder device was left hanging, also the murder of Roger and the super rich finance guy disappearing.

I enjoyed it, but it's typical US drama where they always leave space for a second series in case the ratings are good enough. I prefer all my loose ends neatly tied up each time.

I've finished this now - it was disappointing

Paradise on Disney + is similarly themed and is so much better than this, I highly recommend it

Just started, am on Ep 3 and so many questions! Anyone else watching?

SkyOfficer · 12/03/2025 09:39

I watched this last week and for the life of me can't remember anything about it - which probably shows how good it was (or wasn't!)

colouringindoors · 12/03/2025 20:21

It's weird how the concept is really interesting (to me!) but something about it just doesn't work...
