Don't know about you guys but I'm Bushed. This clue hunting is so exhausting. I'm beginning to feel a bit Crabby.

I fully expect the best singer to go first.

Tape measures at the ready - calling tinsel.

@Raahh thank you, my lips are sealed 🤐

Lee can be quite cutting at times!
I do like him though , he makes me laugh

I don’t like him in Not Going Out but in this, he’s great

the80sweregreat · 15/02/2025 20:43

Not going out with Lee Mack and Tim vine was very funny ! Not so much when they had the kids etc

Maybe I need to watch the earlier series then

NigelHarmansNewWife · 15/02/2025 21:04

It's worth watching. Once the main premise was gone it went to shit.

Bloom15 · 15/02/2025 21:06

I am gutted Gregory Porter didn't win. I am not a musical fan and hated the (to me ) rather boring songs from musicals.

Gregory Porter's voice is amazing!

xsquared · 15/02/2025 23:26

@NigelHarmansNewWife What was the shit clue about her working with Hugh Jackman then? I missed that.
Anyway, she played Eponine in Les Miserables.

I'm surprised so many haven't heard of her. If you're into musicals and theatre, you can't miss her. She's been Elsa in the musical of Frozen for ages now. I didn't watch it at the time, but I think she was I "How do you solve a problem like Maria" with Jessie Buckley and sang Defying gravity.

Twonewcats · 16/02/2025 04:01

Wolf deserved to win, given that the panel didn't even mention him.

Unless you have been to the west end to see those specific musicals, which I imagine the vast majority of the population hasn’t, then why would you have heard of her? I have seen some musicals in London over the years but couldn’t name and of the people in them.

I felt really quite annoyed. I enjoy the show, look forward for weeks to find out who they are. And instead of ‘oh my god it’s them!’ It was a case of ‘who?! Well that’s a massive letdown!’ It’s a Saturday evening ITV show which completely relies on people knowing who they are. I have known every single other contestant before. For her to win was a real anticlimax.

ViolinsPlayGentlyOn · 16/02/2025 09:06

I’d never heard of Example or Gregory Porter before this show, so it’s just different people are interested in different things.

Samantha Barks was quite recently a judge on an ITV show to find cast members for Mamma Mia so a few more people will have heard of her through that.

There have been quite a few band members I’d never heard of in their own right either and wouldn’t have recognised who have won / done quite well (Charlie Simpson and Danny Jones for instance)

She was in the film of Les Mis, so you don’t have to have gone to any shows to have seen her in something.

I haven't seen her in a musical myself but I've seen her in Les Miserables, the film that is. She's also on Radio 2, sometimes doing Elaine Page's spot.

Anyway, I guess you can't know every celebrity.

Serenster · 16/02/2025 10:12

I haven’t seen Samantha Barks in Frozen, but did see her, and remembered her, in I’d Do Anything, then Les Miserables, then the Mamma Mia show. And she performed as Elsa on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

On the other hand, I had never heard of Example…

I agree

SwanFlight · 16/02/2025 10:31

Wolf was dreadful. Boring voice, monotonous over laboured tremolo. I'd read suggestions it was Pellow, but I wasn't convinced as Wolf seemed so bad. After listening to Pellow to try and work out if he was Wolf, Pellow seems to be a bit of a one-trick-pony, equally flat. Which I don't get as he has a great speaking voice. He would sound lovely reading poetry.

The two finalists were light years ahead. I don't really get masked singer, I'm sure there are many known unknown voice talents out there. They even recycle contestants as with Macy Gray. Example was fun as he played the game.

Twonewcats · 16/02/2025 10:33

Re samantha barks, she was on something a few years ago as Elsa, it was possibly Children In Need, and it shocked me how off-key she was - there must have been sound issues or something 😳

To add to this, they've said Samantha and Gregory's names for weeks, and since the entire point is the guessing game... 🫤

When we heard him sing Love Is All Around, he was back to his powerful voice, so I'd guess that he was disguising his voice when singing ballads - or maybe he's just not confident when it isn't one of his usual songs.

Well, next year get your priorities right.

Piggywaspushed · 16/02/2025 21:45

Very true but as my DS's band won their national competition, I have made peace with missing the final.
