I was using hands and eyes to do some craftwork so I listened. I think I ought to have watched, too. I mean to watch part 2. Interesting.

I didn't know anything the story. I was 17 when Margaret Thatcher resigned so it was a bit before I took an interest in politics (so far). But I think HW is very good but making MT look far softer and more likeable than I remember her. I'm feeling sorry for her so I hope that tonight's episode shows the woman I remember.

I watched part 2 and then I watched the actual interview. More 4, I think.

In the one-to-one interview she didn't need to sound as strident as she might have in the House of Commons, where she was trying to be heard above the Wednesday racket.

Yes, the actors were good. Wonderful voices.

Loved part 1. Part 2 this evening. She did huge damage to my northern city but I have respect for her as Europe's first female PM. Guardian Women, during the 1979 election campaign, carried numerous articles debating whether women of the left should vote for her. I still remember a letter in the main part of the paper which read: 'Would you vote for Idi Amin because he's black?' (Idi Amin, in case you don't know, was a butcher of a dictator in recently deposed in Uganda.)
