TV licence fee

Hi.
Never understand who is/ not supposed to pay BBC licence fee? I don't have sky or BT or any subscription nor want to watch BBC Iplayer.I have a dish through which different news channels and some movies channel come through..I have been paying licence fee for many years but somebody said that I should not?
Please help and share your thoughts .

You need a licence if you watch ANY live TV or record ANY live TV and if you watch iplayer

Yes, if you're watching live news channels you need a licence.

The only way to completely avoid it is NO live TV and no iPlayer.

Is it like a Freesat dish, my mum had that and it was the free to air, live TV channels same as what come from the aerial, if it is you need a licence
