I'm slightly obsessed with this programme and I'd love to know what the process is really like! Do they make it deliberately even more messy before they start so that the contrast is more dramatic? Do the homeowners get any say in the decoration? Does it really happen in 7 days? How many extra invisible helpers are there to clear and organise? Is it really weird that your neighbours see your house? Many questions.

Right now I want to know if they would do a mini version for hoarder messy teens/preteens.

@TickingAlongNicely that would be amazing 🤩

@newhomein2025 we have the same discussions. We reckon they have a huge team (a bit like changing rooms /60 minute makeover), Rob does all the building and planning separately, and while it may take 7 days actual filming, there will be days in between and the organising in the warehouse must take a massive team a good few days

hopeishere · 24/01/2025 16:15

Even laying out the stuff in the warehouse must take days!

NotMeNoNo · 24/01/2025 16:24

I would pay to be on the team doing the organising and laying out in the warehouse. I'm sure there's a big backstage team.

@thenewaveragebear1983 I'm dying for someone who has done it to tell us all about it!

Just seen new series starting on 11th Feb!

I'd also like to know what it's really like. I tried laying out all our books once and it took up a 12 x 6m space with just 1 walkway up the middle, but they all fit in one 40 wide and one 80 x waist height Billy bookcase, and took about an hour. (Was worth it. They freed up loads of space...which we quickly filled with new books, but that was the plan all along!)

@stargazer02 Yay, great! Thanks. I know what you mean re laying things out. I always try to imagine what my relatively modest record collection would look like laid out - would take up a surprisingly large amount of floor space compared to shelf space.

I have different questions!

Do they get to remove stuff ahead of time so it isn't sorted e.g. dirty laundry/dishes, and what about personal items like sex toys! I know they wouldn't show it, but it would be hilarious if they lined up 5 vibrators etc!!
