I am about to dive in. Gillian Anderson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Viola Davis - what could be more glorious?
Anyone else watched/watching?

Yes I watched them when they first aired. It’s been a while but if I recall, I Loved Gillian Anderson and Michelle Pfeiffer’s performances but found Viola Davis’ (who I normally love as an actress) a bit distracting as I felt it she was trying to mimic Michelle Obama more than tell her story.

I found the Betty Ford storyline very interesting.

If you like this, I’d recommend’Gaslit’ starring Julia Roberts and Mrs America starring Cate Blanchett.

I've never heard of this, but it sounds right up my street - where can I watch it?

I saw it advertised on U/Dave. I can’t recall which platform I watched it on originally.

It's on U&Drama.

I am loving it. Knew very little about Betty Ford. Am now in awe.

Now, I love Viola. I love Michelle - I do not love Viola playing Michelle.

Watched Mrs America - it drove me crazy (loved the programme just not the non-acceptance of the ERA! As far as I am aware, it is still not ratified in all 50 states which leaves me dizzy with despair)

I started watching this when it first came out, but I just couldn’t continue with Viola Davis’ portrayal of Michelle Obama. The constant over exaggerated pursed lips (looked like a cat’s bum) ruined it for me. It didn’t get a second season, and I think it’s partly due to mixed reviews in relation to her role.

I have considered trying it again and just fast forwarding her bits, I thought Michelle Pfeiffer was great as Betty Ford.
