Im having issues as i cannot sign up. Ive asked to pay monthly but its not working and my bank say there ate no issues. I got a verification email nd that said verification needed from bank to allow amazon to take monthly payments. I clicked verify and amazon said it takes 48 hours for amazon to verify with the bank. Never had thiis issue before. Ive spent hours trying to sort this with amazon customer services who are rubbish

Why should Amazon Prime be so difficult to sign up to when I have already signed up to Amazon with my new card and bought things which proves that I have sufficient funds in my account and there are no issues with the card

So you have Prime for purchasing things off Amazon so Prime Video is automatically included, is the problem that you can't purchase films, can you still watch the free Prime stuff. Are you the main card holder on Prime, if you are a family member you can use Prime but I know there are problems if you want to buy Prime films. So are you a family member of Prime rather than main member.

My DH is the family member so he can purchase as normal but if he wants to buy a Prime film, I have to buy it

It's fine now and I can watch but when I tried to get help from Amazon customer services they were absolute rubbish and they haven't got a clue

My original credit card had to be replaced, and the new number was accepted with no problem.

But it seems impossible to delete the original 16digit number. I need to doublecheck with each purchase that the order does not default to the old credit card number.

It’s easy to miss this on my phone as the font is so small. Could this be happening with your account?
