I saw this and found it horrifying. Such a violent and vile crime and yet I didn’t know about it. So many involved. Poor guy. Horrendous.

i did wonder whether any of the perps would have found but for mobile phones. And the discovery of the car inside another. Well worth a watch.

Head almost cut off 😳😓

So scary and sad

Just caught up with this. Good documentary, horrific murder - seemed like the team really felt like they'd let the victim down. Glad the sentences were as right as they were.

purpleme12 · 21/01/2025 23:34

Wow the dashcam of that car!
Got it all!

anyone watch this weeks about the stabbing?

purpleme12 · 23/01/2025 00:22

Yes that's what my comment about the dashcam was about

Sorry - page hadn't refreshed from my "watching" threads!

Yes, the dashcam footage was gold dust.

They never really got to the bottom of why the murdered lad had initiated the first attack in the shop. I wonder what the story was.

And the driver, his face was blurred yet they named him. But he was found not guilty of all charges. Again, must have been more to the story.

purpleme12 · 23/01/2025 00:36

Yes I wondered about those things too

DH wandered by and asked if I was watching an action film!

I don't like it either, the pop songs seem highly unsuitable to me when a man has been murdered.

purpleme12 · 28/01/2025 22:46

How did they know he had this firearm and wanted to use it at this venue?

And how did they put cover surveillance cameras up outside his house with no one knowing?

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 28/01/2025 22:53

Why couldn't they get a warrant from the start and search his house? As from the sounds of it he'd managed to go from the house to the centre without them seeing him

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 28/01/2025 23:18

Wow no firearms

OP posts:
JellyBeanFactory · 28/01/2025 23:52

I think tonight's was odd too - all that s ton and resources and then no weapons found at the end of it. How on earth were they not able to track him all day and not know where he was when the venue opened.

I liked the younger woman detective, she kept calm and was astute, we'll likely see her in 10 years as the officer in charge!

BadgersGalore · 29/01/2025 09:53

I agree the music is jarring, it's more suited to something like The Traitors.

They would have had intelligence from an informant.

There are ways of installing surveillance cameras in public areas without anyone noticing but not appropriate to outline here.

In order to get a warrant you need specific credible information that the firearm is at a particular location. They may have had intelligence that X had a firearm and was going to shot someone at the nightclub but that doesn't indicate where the firearm is being kept. These people don't have fixed addresses like normal people. They often stay with various girlfriends, mates or their Mum's. They may leave the firearm with a third party and collect it when they need it. They may bury it in the local woods etc etc.
