What is your background tv?

Sometimes I just want something easy watching on in the background to glance at and half watch while I'm doing other things, do you know what I mean?

It's recently been Kim's Convenience and Schitt's Creek but want something else.

What are yours?

Friends! Seen them all before but still get some good laughs from it!

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 14/01/2025 22:52

Any Real Housewives. Listening to over-served, overdressed and over tweaked rich bitches screaming at each other is soothing to me.

TheBoysAndTheBallet · 15/01/2025 11:13

A Place In the Sun! Or any home makeover programme.

RaraRachael · 15/01/2025 11:29

Midsomer Murders although I've seen them all before!

CanIinterestyouinasarcasticcomment · 15/01/2025 11:34

Friends for me. I've watched it so many times I know what's happening without needing to watch it.

Saturday Kitchen or Saturday Kitchen Best Bites. Like pornography for dieters (me) and a year's worth of episodes on BBC iPlayer.

RedRiverShore5 · 15/01/2025 13:56

The Kirstie and Phil house programmes
Bake Off and other cookery programmes
Virgin River
The good ship murder

I cannot stand a TV being on "in the background" if I am doing a task where I will rarely be looking at the screen (housework, cooking, sewing etc), that is why I put the radio on instead.
However........ I like the TV to be on while I am ironing as I can spend 50% of my time looking at the screen and my goto programs are something I have watched multiple times before like Midsomer Murders, Death In Paradise etc.
I will never watch a new program while ironing as I want to be able to concentrate.

When I'm crafting I love bake off, sewing bee, pottery throwdown, Blown Away - it keeps me motivated.

Originalmemberr · 15/01/2025 14:21

I love TDT too. Glaswegian Gavin & Stacey (sort of). I love the Pete & Dawn equivalent couple (forget their names).
