Oh no, I’m in bits 😭 Between Chitty Chitty and Mary Poppins, Dick van Dyke WAS my childhood. I watched those two videos over and over. He just seems like the sweetest man ever. So much life and sparkle in his eyes. I loved how in awe he was of Chris Martin improvising that song at the end.

I choked up watching that. I’ve loved him since I was a little girl.

He had to crawl to escape from his house in Malibu, and three of his neighbours picked him up and carried him to safety. His house survived though.
