Anyone else disappointed? Such a boring episode. I understand the message and the need to raise awareness but feel like this could have been done maybe as bonus episode? I usually love the big special episodes with big dramas or disasters and they normally do an excellent job with this. Was looking forward to all all day lol.

I actually really enjoyed it. Are there any more coming??

Newshoos · 22/12/2024 08:57

Not sure. I hope so I do normally love it

I think I’m in love with Ian 💕🤪

I really enjoyed it and although I’m in the minority I actually enjoyed them bringing in real life stories about when blood is needed.

Casualty probably reaches a far wider audience than a documentary would so if popular shows can be used to highlight such important issues then I’m all for it.

I’m part of a Facebook group and last night alone, five people posted in the group asking how they go about donating blood. Nobody mentioned having watched Casualty but I’m pretty confident that’s what had triggered them to ask.

I was so worried that Iain was going to die so I’m very relieved he didn’t. I do find the whole family set-up with Faith’s kids a little bit nauseating to be honest…..it’s all a bit sickly and twee. Plus, being realistic, after everything that had gone on with him and Natalia I find it very unlikely the home environment would be as harmonious as it is portrayed to be. I imagine it would be as awkward as hell in reality……in fact I can’t even imagine a scenario where a mother would invite her boyfriend to live with her when she knows her own daughter had fancied him, practically stalked him and had previously tried it on with him and kissed him too. Yet in Casualty Iain and Natalia are having Christmas cuddles in the kitchen and Faith is smiling happily in the background.

I really hope Dylan gets to keep the dog and the delivery man and his daughter don’t come back in future episodes and ask for him back. It’s clearly a magical dog seeing as it came to no harm at all in such a horrific crash that resulted in the driver being critically injured 🤣

But anyway……despite the usual “as if” moments in the show I am still so incredibly glad that it is back!!!!!

You're not alone, the message was very important but it was bloody boring

I had to switch off - i feel that a normal episode with disclaimers about the importance of blood donation would've been just as effective, sorry

Newshoos · 22/12/2024 16:24

Exactly! I’m not saying it was not an important message but I really expected more from a Christmas episode.

Oh I really enjoyed it! I thought the message was very poignant and delivered well.

It was a bit odd for a first episode after the long break but if it has helped get people to give blood then that's great news.

I'm looking forward to a more "normal" episode normal next Saturday.
