I've just caught up. Pete is definitely at the end of the line. He did nothing in that AT, Jowita just danced around him. Chris's Charleston was pretty poor and his VW not much better though he has done brilliantly. I think Pete needs to go and the final three should be Sarah, Tasha and JB. I would like to see a woman win, but think JB has started from less than Sarah and Tasha so has made more progress.

Final three?
There will be four left after the DO.

I'm confused about what's to not like about JB? Seems like a pretty humble guy to me.

Insipid, lacks personality, boyband ( people seem to forget that when criticising others for having previous experience) and he just bores me when he dances. Last night I barely noticed him dancing in the paso.

EsmaCannonball · 08/12/2024 12:49

I guess if you are a turkey you might not be a fan of JB, especially around this time of year. I've enjoyed JB on the show but haven't voted for him, usually because my other favourites have been in danger. When Amy brought out that cake last night it did remind me that I am a vegetarian.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I think he just has a quiet personality.

Being in a boy band (or girl band) does not mean he's a professional dancer, and even on Strictly, they haven't always proved to be very good. Examples: Mollie King, Lee from Blue, Max George from The Wanted from the top of my head.

He was in a talent show called Dance, Dance, Dance with his wife, Chloe, but from what I've seen on YouTube, it's just copying the dances of popular music videos.

He's no Danny Mac, but Danny Mac was already exceptional I week 1, and it's not a fair comparison. His Cha Cha Cha was already final standard in week 1, whereas JB's dances were just okay, his jive landed him in a dance off but as the weeks have gone on, he confidence has really transformed him as a dancer.

Don't they eliminate the last placed couple before the final three do their show dances in the Final?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/12/2024 13:37

They used to but they changed it

This. And his paso was amazing (my favourite paso of the series), as was his salsa.

I supported Claudia Fragapane that year, and didn't really get the Danny Mac love.

Edited

Not since I started watching, which was 2014.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/12/2024 14:09

Katie Derham was eliminated in the final in 2015. I don't think they've done it since then.

Insecurity.

Nasty.

I read somewhere that they've danced on a show together before. I'd tend to assume interested and supportive.

If you've got a professional dancer at home then it's bound to be useful for her to be able to take over rehearsals at the end of the day: but in order to do that she needs to know exactly what he's being taught in order to stop mixed messaging.

Samcro · 08/12/2024 15:17

I couldn't post yesterday. enjoyed all the dancing. voted 2 for Pete and 1 for chris.
will be interesting to see who is in the DO.

u3ername · 08/12/2024 16:53

I'm still catching up and only got to week 11 (musicals) but have to say I'm finding the men in dresses and make up a bit too much this year. It does make me a bit uncomfortable, although I'm not sure why? Is it just me?

Okay I'll bite. It's just you.

Craig and Anton were dressed as the twins from The Shining for Halloween. Totally fitting with the theme.

Wynne was dressed as a man dressed as a woman for his Mrs Doubtfire movie week cha cha cha. Again nothing unusual there.

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 08/12/2024 18:03

@EvilRingahBitch , I had no idea Chloe was a dancer, just thought she was interested and supportive. They seem like a lovely family.

I was too old for JLS so they passed me by, but JB seems like a decent lad, his dancing has come a long way/is fabulous to watch. He is joyous.

Samcro · 08/12/2024 18:15

I like jb and he is a good dancer. But I think of him as a ringer

ItsBehindYouSequinsAndStilettos · 08/12/2024 18:17

Craig was bearded lady from Greatest Showman, Anton was Joseph (but looked more like Abba). Craig has always dragged up on Strictly either because he was the villain in panto or Annie or because a character appealed to him. Anton did panto dame with Widdy once. It doesn't bother me. I'm old school - brought up on Kenny Everett, Les Dawson, Lily Savage, Julian Clary, Tim Curry - before watching Drag Race and all the shablam. Same with music - we had Bolan, Bowie, Jagger, Annie Lennox, Boy George, Marilyn. Gender bending was considered an art form as was burlesque. Just because a minority of people have made it an identity as opposed to dressing as, doesn't mean I have to reject it as an art form or as an entertainment.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/12/2024 18:39

Great post Sequins

I just watched Sarah's jive again (DH and the kids were out last night so they've just caught up) and I enjoyed it a lot more second time around. Still hope she doesn't have to dance it again, but don't hold out a lot of hope. (Actually, it would be smart to do the tango again, but who knows.)

TitsInAbsentia · 08/12/2024 19:18

Just finishing up watching last night and oh my god that dreadful version of bitter sweet symphony - get in the bin!

dapsnotplimsolls · 08/12/2024 19:19

Can they choose which one they do in the DO or is it just the second one?

RainbowSnake · 08/12/2024 19:19

Evening all.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/12/2024 19:20

Tess is looking very fancy this evening.

Sarah's in her tango costume so I guess they can choose.
