JulieF · 09/01/2005 21:03

He ended up shouting at them all.

What are these people on. Don't they realise they are well on the way to destroying their kids confidence and deveoping a loathing of music.

Just let them be kids, enjoy their singing lessons and let their teachers (who are much more qualified than these mums)get on with teaching without interference.

RTKangaMummy · 09/01/2005 21:18

does he have to teach kids like these with pushy parnets?

OP posts:
JulieF · 09/01/2005 21:22

In one of his jobs he often has to deal with the opposite problem, kids who are given no encouragement and support.

At the drama school we run we thankfully have no pushy parents. The kids have a ball and we emphasise that very very few make it. Any that do is a bonus.

RTKangaMummy · 10/01/2005 11:10

JF That is sad for the children

But sounds like you run a brill drama school

I thought the big mum was living through her daughter, forcing her to do the things she wasn't doing herself. It was quite telling that when she wasn't allowed to become involved in the music lesson she had nothing else to do. Time to get a life methinks!

The 'posh' mum gave herself away when she described the music tutor as "the most expensive and he has a W1 address." Shows what is important to her, silly woman! In that family I felt sorry for the other daughter who was constantly told she wasn't worth the time and effort and she wasn't as special as the singing sister, that was truly awful and shame on the parents for allowing that. I imagine the singing sister will find herself ostracised from her siblings later on if she doesn't loose the little madam attitude.
