Hello,

As the title asks, does anyone have the cheapest plan with adverts? Is it any good and how intrusive/frequent are the adverts?

Thanks

No following out of curiosity

Although I'm a weirdo who's not bothered by ads 😂

DorotheaDiamond · 02/12/2024 19:56

Yes…extremely annoying!!!

RedRiverShore5 · 02/12/2024 20:01

I had it free with ads from Tesco as an offer, normally I get the ad free version with Tesco Clubcard and the ads were a bit annoying but what was worse was that it didn't allow downloads which I use a lot when we go away so I don't know if that will affect you as some people don't use the download function anyway so it wouldn't matter

I've got it free with ads via Lloyds bank. It's more intrusive than netflix ads but the kids were saying after watching a couple of shows on chanel 4, Disney plus is not that bad! They are very repetitive ads, but tolerable (usually 1-2 minutes). I probably don't mind as much because I don't pay for it.

I have the Disney plus with ads. I don't mind it. I pop to make a hot drink or go to the loo. I don't watch it that often tbh. We got it when DS lived at home and he's in his own house now.

BeMintBee · 02/12/2024 20:24

we do, it’s not too bad or frequent IMO. Watched a series on channel 4 catch up last week and had forgotten how tedious and long normal TV ad breaks are!

IBlameYourMother · 02/12/2024 20:26

It’s fine. Happens a couple of times in a show, but only at the start of the movies. People have forgotten what patience looks like, we’ve been spoiled by instant gratification! I make team in the ad breaks.

CoffeeInTheClouds · 02/12/2024 20:33

We have just cancelled our Disney plus subscription, not because of the ads but because we tend to spend more time scrolling through trying to find something worth watching than actually watching.

The ads weren't too bad, very short. Sometimes there weren't any ads at all, other times about every 20 minutes or so.

FlannelandPuce · 02/12/2024 20:36

We have the cheapest package, and to be honest I can't really remember seeing many ads. We tend to watch movies with the children, rather than shows and I think there is a few ads at the start. They can't be very obtrusive else I would have more to say on the subject.

Nellie0606 · 02/12/2024 20:57

With films they’re only at the beginning so not bad at all. My daughter gets more annoyed at the adverts on ch 4 catch up which seem to go on forever!

twilightermummy · 02/12/2024 20:59

Do you have the full catalogue with that version of the subscription? I thought it was limited but I may be completely wrong about that!

Yes it's the same catalogue on either package. The ads don't bother me but I mainly watch films and there are only a couple at the start so time to get comfy!

Propeaceful · 02/12/2024 22:03

I've just changed to Disney with ads as I get it free with my bank. Thought it would bother me but I don't mind at all, gives me chance to have a scroll or make a drink. I don't watch much TV though.

It's the same catalogue but the main difference apart from ads is that you can't download as I found out after I had taken out a subscription, got watching a series and went to download a load of episodes for caravan holiday and couldn't so something to bear in mind if you download stuff a lot which I do when we go away

TryingDry · 02/12/2024 22:08

I have disney + with ads and they don't bother me.

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 02/12/2024 22:15

It’s the want /need to download anything that’s your key decision here. The ads are short in comparison to “terrestrial” tv

LeonardoAcropolis · 03/12/2024 19:48

Thanks everyone, I only want it for a few months so I'll get the plan with Ads.
