I would imagine the BBC were glad of the contraversary as no one would ahve bothered otherwise, talk about boring!

total pants!

mishi1977 · 08/01/2005 23:34

its weird n crude but DH seems to be enjoying it

RadioTimeskangamummy · 08/01/2005 23:35

have just taken a look

very weird

is this the same as in west end that people are paying for???

Frieda · 08/01/2005 23:36

WCL. Although I have to say, it did work slightly better in the flesh, as it were. When it was a bit of a novelty. Though I do agree ? lot of fuss about nothing.

hunkermunker · 08/01/2005 23:38

I rather liked it. Mind you, I examined the first half hour in minute detail...

fairyfly · 08/01/2005 23:39

I thought it was great

RadioTimeskangamummy · 08/01/2005 23:41

I suppose it is because I have only watched the last 10 mins.

So not a fair opinion really

Blossomhill · 08/01/2005 23:42

Something else I have missed being on here. What do I need to do to get myself banned???

hunkermunker · 08/01/2005 23:44

If you look at it as 'swearing a lot, blasphemy and violence for the sake of it', you won't like it.

But if you've watched the 'proper' show and really listen to the lyrics (the subtitles for the first half hour were great, if I say so myself ) it's very well done.

JulieF · 08/01/2005 23:46

I'm watching it now, I think it is quite clever and very sad.

WestCountryLass · 09/01/2005 00:00

I haven't viewed it in that way Hunkermunker but I have found the lines really repetitive and the music uninspiring and dull.

Actually enjoyed this. It's certainly weird, but very well done. Glad the BBC showed as getting to the theatre is a bit difficult at the moment. Well done.

marthamoo · 09/01/2005 00:03

I saw the last five minutes and thought it was pretty good. It seemed to be speaking to me "we will never agree on everything" - but then I am pissed.

WestCountryLass · 09/01/2005 00:04

Hahaha, maybe that is the key then Marthamoo, should have had a drink before I tuned in!

WCL, it was my job to watch it that closely. Don't want anyone thinking I'm odd (except for the iced gem thing)

Was that Carlos from Holby City playing the devil? I only saw the last 10 mins.

I thought the first 2 acts were good (enough to stop me nodding off anyway). 3rd Act did go on a bit & I got fed up - didn't see the last 20 mins or so - what was the outcome ?

Marina · 10/01/2005 11:06

I thought what I saw was interesting enough (well-sung too) but was too zonked to see to the end.
Very glad the BBC went through with televising it, as a practising Christian I had no problems with it being on, nor did I see it as especially blasphemous. Wish all those picketing zealot loons would devote their enthusiasms to campaigning for an end to world debt in 2005 instead.

aloha · 10/01/2005 11:31

I loved it. Saw it in the theatre and laughed a LOT. The tapdancing KKK esp good, I thought. First half better than second IMO. And couldn't stay up to see it all on TV.
