Curious how many people apply and get through to the many interview rounds!

I hear 14,000 people apply every year which is a lot more than I thought to be honest!

No, but following with interest. 14k applications a year is a lot.

I can't bake well, so won't be joining their ranks but I do like watching the programme.

Would love to know what the whole process is from applying to where they stay, what it's really like....

This is DH's ambition for when he retires.

I've told him I don't mind if he feels the need to practise rather a lot meanwhile.

I have a phone interview next week, but apparently it's really tough!

My friend applied a few years ago. She got quite far in the process and had to go to London where they did a “mock” episode. They look at how you deal with being asked questions whilst baking and being filmed and if you’re comfortable with the cameras etc.
