Grand Designs

I started watching old Grand Designs on All4 and I realised why I never really watched it before…why do they go back and film before the project is complete? Other property shows manage it. I guess it messes with their production schedule but it’s infuriating to watch an hour long programme and not see the full outcome!

Can anyone recommend any other similar shows? I love property shows, My Home Made Perfect was the best but no longer running. I’ve seen most of the Phil & Kirsty ones and even Homes under the hammer is better at going back when they are finished than Grand Designs.

Anyone else like property shows?

Every episode I’ve ever seen of Grand Designs has Kevin going to look round the finished home at the end 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree OP. Dh and I have been binge watching episodes over the last few evenings and more often than not the house is unfinished at the end. It's annoying...but I suppose that's the unruly nature of building a grand design!

The majority of them now they go to a finished home. I guess early on they didn’t know if it would be recommissioned.

It must be a nightmare to co ordinate.
One project starting in 2017, but takes 7 years. Then another starting 2022 takes 2 years. Then something else starting 2014 but takes 10 years. Just keeping on top of it all and organising it into a series must be a pain.

Imagine if they decided to cancel it now. All those projects that they’ve been following for years.
