I always love this series. My 11 year old is really into WWII so we watched the first episode with him and his 9 year old sister yesterday. They enjoyed it but I'm wondering if the Holocaust coverage is going be too much for them. Has anyone seen ahead and can advise? They're both aware of the Holocaust but there's a difference between being aware and knowing the detail of the horror at their age.

I've watched it all. I think it would be OK. It talks about people dying (hard to avoid if dealing with war) but not visual details. If anything it portrays the inhabitants of the Berlin block as individuals with their own stories whose lives went very different ways.

Thanks!

Oh great, I didn't realise there was a new series. Previously I thought I read it had been cancelled, which was disappointing.

It's usually fascinating and David Olusoga does a great job.

Personally, I found it quite harrowing and upsetting. I wouldn’t let children watch it.

There are also images of people (Nazis) who have taken their own lives - in the last episode I think. Such a good series though.
