Just to let you know there is a tribute to Dame Maggie right now on BBC 2, with interviews and clips. What a beauty and what a toff, Essex girl !

She’s just wonderful to watch - all these old clips and interviews. Brilliant actress and such an interesting woman.

She was able to portray such a wonderful range of characters.

In a way it was a shame she got sort of pigeoned holed later in life for making (superbly) one line put downs in an upper class accent.
