The Resident - anyone watching?

It's your standard US soapy medical drama along the lines of New Amsterdam. It's shit, but I'm quite enjoying it.

Only a few episodes in but a couple of thoughts so far. Dr Pravesh's English girlfriend - the acting is so stilted I wondered if it was because she was having to concentrate on putting on a British accent, but I looked her up and she really is English. Her scenes are just painful.

And worse - the episode with the rescue puppies. Supposedly a rescue sent a load of puppies to the hospital to cheer up sick children. Then the staff started handing them out to any random patient or staff member to take home - no home checks, no paperwork - nothing. OMG!!

I’ve watched 3 episodes and I’m enjoying it too.

I’ve only seen the girlfriend on the first episode and yes, I can’t tell you the number of times I hear English actors with accents that I’ve never heard in real life.

I remember it happened with Haley‘s English boyfriend in Modern Family.

I've watched the whole lot before, it's definitely 911/new Amsterdam type! Easy watching mostly

I've been poorly today so binge watched. I love it. It took me ages to realise Nic was in Revenge which was a guilty pleasure of mine.

I'm fascinated by the fast pace and twists and turns in this medical drama.

I binged the whole thing on Disney+ and loved it. I miss it so much!

I watched the first few series years ago and I'm watching series 6 now on Netflix. I love it. I better not say too much due to spoilers!

I'm a big Matt Czuchry fan. 😍

I came across it during lockdown, enjoyed it, met some lovely fans on Twitter. Sure, some scenes/episodes are unrealistic but it’s not a documentary.

I know we can't expect complete realism - but to give rescue puppies away like handing out doughnuts - maybe it's just me 😂

I've been watching it sporadically for a few years. On S5 now.
It doesn't get any better but unlike Grey's it doesn't get worse!
I still think on Conrad as Carey from the Good Wife.

I've just found it.

Conrad is Logan from Gilmore Girls to me.

He has a voice like Christian Slater.

Just whizzed through almost 5 seasons! Loving it and love Conrad in particular 😃

I've watched a couple seasons and really enjoy it, far better than Greys is with the storylines and more likeable characters

Love it. Love Conrad.

Just started season 6 and I’m still enjoying it as much as season 1 which is unusual when a lot of series slack off as it goes on - feel like I’m a medical expert now 😂

I finished it a while ago and loved it. Much better than greys anatomy. New Amsterdam is also brilliant.

It’s not the sort of thing I’d usually watch, but I really like it. So does DH and he is much fussier than I am.

Just started this. Similar to greys - the shaky handed consultant is reminiscent of Burke/Christina in Greys.

I like the transparency of the greed in medical care. That's a new angle.

Before this I watched Gilmore Girls so to me Conrad is still Logan.

I thought Sam Neill was playing Dr Bell the actor does look like him!

Just finished it. Season 6 wasn’t quite as good but overall I’ve enjoyed it.
