Bogies are facinating!

Covered them today with year 10 and in the Immune system!

Did you really? Science has certainly become more interesting since I was at High School!

I wondered why the dc are giggling away to themselves!

(I misheard and thought dd said they were investigating ponies)

Well, we ad to do the three different parts of the Immune system. the first is physical barriers like the skin, but also mucus (aka bogies). the second level is non specific white blood cells called phagocytes, what amuses the kids is when you point out that pus is made up of dead bacteria and phagocytes!

Make it gruesome and they remember it better and enjoy it a litle more

I'll bet you are a great teacher MB!

I enjoy the snot and slime side of things!

My kids love Nina, and were fascinated by the whole bogey thing, but ds has just been traumatised by some kind of torture device in Pingu!!
