I am on episode 3, not sure why I expected them to be Emiratis but I understand they are too conservative to do a show like this. Most of them are from North Africa and Lebanon, some don't even live in Dubai. I don't think the Lebanese girl who is after a rich guy will like the short Egyptian guy. The slim Egyptian girl who is into fitness wasn't pleased when she saw the Iraqi guy.

I've only watched the UK one and have no interest in the others, but purely because I'm Muslim and have watched some other Arabic Netflix shows I am giving this one a go. I've watched the first two episodes so far (plus the beginning part of ep.3 to see the full reveal of that couple, I've forgot their names).

I'm not surprised gym goer girl was disappointed with the DJ. He misled her in describing his physical appearance, he was deliberately vague etc. Surely he could anticipate she would be disappointed. He should have been up front about it before and left the choice with her given they talked about it so explicitly already.

I don't really see how any of the couples could ever actually work well irl though given that they're based all over the world. I guess the producers etc don't really care about that though for the purposes of TV! I then wonder if a lot of the participants feel the same though and this is just good TV exposure for them? Not sure how seriously they are taking it.

I’m on episode 4 and finding it fascinating. It’s so different to the usual ones from a cultural perspective but also has the usual issues of people just not fancying each other.

Simo the Moroccan guy forbidding his wife from going out alone isn’t very likeable!

I like Safa and Muhammad they seem well suited and he’s sexy!

I’ve watched it all and really enjoyed it. The people are so charming and speak multiple languages - more classy than UK contestants on similar shows.

I've been watching it and I'm struck by how all the men were convinced that marriage was the right thing to do with the women they paired with in the pods, but when it came to the ceremonies it was always the women having second thoughts.

I'm just watching Ep 10 The Reunion now. DJ guy has lost a lot of weight. It's amazing how much they discussed his body type as problematic. I haven't watched any other shows, but would they do that in the west?

Also I wondered if it was the show producers encouraging the scene of the couple not confirming they wanted to get married until they were literally in their bridal garb in front of their wedding guests. Is this a thing in Arabic culture, or is it the programme trying for more cliffhangers?
