Foyle's war made me cry....

Just watched the last episode and cried.
I knew Sam and Foyle's son would end up together!
Am a sucker for wartime music too....

Only realised that there was a new series last night! Can't believe I missed the whole blardy series

It was really good wasn't it? It has always been oddly scheduled, or not very well advertised, and my dh and I have missed quite a few episodes this way.
Do you think we are going to be treated to a "Foyles after war years" series then?

They said at the close of last night's episode 'the end...or is it??' which I thought was a good sign. Apparently Antony Horowicz is in talks with ITV re new series so fingers crossed.
Given the lamentable state of ITV drama you would have thought tey would bite his hand off!

The murder mystery bit was rubbish, I mean come on we all knew it was the hotel man that dun it, right from the start.

But everything else about it was wonderful. Esp "Come on, you know you want my Dad as your Father In Law"..

I agree, ITV don't produce much good drama at the moment, so it would be a wierd decision if they don't bring it back.
TAlilac - I often work out who the murderer is pretty early on in these, but then that doesn't really matter to me, as I watch it for all the historical details and great characters too.

Yes thats true, but they do normally make a bit more effort to pretend that it might have been someone other than the obvious baddie.. But I really don't mind because as you say, it wasn't really about solving the crime..

So, will a new series just be "Foyle" then?

I love the clothes,the countryside,the hairstyles,the music...and Sam's accent.Wish I could speak like that.
