Has anyone else watched this? Unbelievable!

I also came looking for someone who has watched this! I can’t believe it’s not being talked about more, I’ve never seen anything like it 🙈

Umanresources · 21/09/2024 10:02

It’s on my list. I’m waiting to watch it with my daughter.

MermaidEyes · 21/09/2024 10:09

Is this the one about Dena Thompson? I watched it last week.

cheezncrackers · 21/09/2024 10:13

Yes, I saw it. I'm glad she eventually went to prison for 20 years. She is a total psycho and her parents weren't much better - I guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree. I hope this series means that future victims will be able to learn what she's capable of before they get snared. The first husband - Lee - OMG!! The way she controlled him so completely was scary.

Same. I was shouting at the tv. The way Lee was talking about the Irish mafia and the leprechauns....then the third husband's failure to report her. How did she find these men?

Two of her husbands have very similar styles of storytelling too - so matter of fact about what they had been through, and fairly calm about it all ! I wondered how she picked them out

Yes. Like they were outside watching it. I did like Jeremy's mother!

I did too. For someone who had suffered such a terrible loss (her only DC murdered!) I thought she was fabulous.

I am just watching this. I honestly can't get my head round the first husband believing all that stuff about the IRA, just taking her word for it.

But the biggest mystery for me is anyone paying £25 for those hideous leprechauns.

BlondeFool · 22/09/2024 21:18

Ha ha. I didn't understand how he thought she was going to fulfil that massive order.

I thought this was about the Marvel movie and thought you were all a bit late to the game as it came out during COVID ...I'll assume true crime instead

Arran2024 · 22/09/2024 22:21

Yes, woman who killed her husband and was very creepy.

Is it worth watching to the end because I gave up halfway through the second one. It’s so slow and convoluted. Why can’t they just tell the story clearly from start to finish?

I was also stunned at that 😂- £25 was a lot of money back then, for one of those anyway.

But did she set the whole thing up pre leprechaun (I can't believe I just wrote that!) Or did it just present itself as an opportunity?

She definitely had a skill for finding easily persuadable people, but I suppose that's the skill of a con artist, bloody sad. Glad she didn't get away with it. I really wanted to know what the son thought of it all, I'm assuming she poisoned his mind against the father, although think someone said the boy lived with his grandparents?

Yes, he was living with grandparents but he must be about 20 now so presumably could make contact with his dad if he wanted. Of course he never knew him.

I think that's the saddest part for me poor lad, because the grandparents are clearly not the best either!

Some people have a way with words and get into peoples heads and manipulate them. Everything that comes out of their mouths is believed. I watched this happen in a workplace where an individual had managers and colleagues under their spell . Very charismatic and magnetic .
