Just discovered Home Fires

It passed me by originally. What a brilliant drama.
Two things stand out so far
WWI was in living memory. I don't know why that hadn't struck me before but all the adults remember it and many of the men who aren't that old fought in WWI.
The women having to watch teenage sons go off to war.
I'm not one to weep at a film but I have certainly had a lump in my throat.

Yes it was great. I seem to recall someone organized a petition for ITV to save it. 😂 Sadly they did not. There was a thread on here.

Finished it last night. Great cast, great plots. What a shame they axed it.

just been watching this on Drama
loads of well known actors,
seems good, particularly for a sunday afternoon.

There's a book that carries on the story.
